The agenda of Mr. Adofo is clear. He is hiding under social media to insult the office and person of Asantehene and the Chieftaincy institution in general. Additionally, his respect to societal virtues is non-existence. No one is going to stop you from expressing your opinion under our democratic dispensation. Even our tradition do not support chiefs responding to your writings directly. These notwithstanding, the following are worthy to note:
1. Attempts to degrade the position of Asantehene will suffer loss. There no difference between Asantehene before and after Asante Confederacy.
2. The traditional powers of Asantehene and Traditional Councils are now supported by Acts and guaranteed by our constitution.
3. Ghana is governed by laws.
4. There is no Chieftaincy dispute at Kumawu as per checks at Traditional Council and Houses of Chiefs.
5. If one believes there is chieftancy dispute at Kumawu, the appropriate thing to do is to seek redress from the Traditinal Council and the Houses of Chiefs.
6. One cannot resolve disputes through articles in the media.
7. The open letter to the Asantemen Council connotes relatively less knowledge in our traditional practices. Our tradition do not allow the Traditional Council to respond to your letter.
8. Let us be guided by societal virtues in our approach to issues.
