  When a British delegation visited Kumasi in the early 19th century, they were impressed with the city. Asanti Traders who had visited Yendi, however told the Brits Yendi is a much more impressive city. Let us look back to see a brighter future.

  It is immensely gratifying to read such a glowing tribute to the North's tourism potential coming as it is from a southerner. For much of our nation's short history, the north has been marginalized in all spheres and tourism is no exception. Given this blatant discrimination, foreign tourists are invariably advised to visit historical sites in the south. The north nary warrants a mention at all. But hopefully with the minister's initiative coupled with articles of this caliber, the north may finally be getting the recognition it deserves.
