  Arthur K's second point makes sense, and must be accepted by the NPP strategists. Whenever necessary, NPP must throw its support behind a candidate from another opposition party, just to prevent NDC winning that seat.

  Pepeni fake president is a natural born liar who in order to sound on top of his case has only let the cat out of the bag of his incompetence and lack of knowledge. The cause of these economic woes is Mahama's tribalism, nepotism, incompetence , selfishness, corruption and insane desire to rule at all costs . Just as the the Mayans of south America killed their leaders and ate their brains so pepeni killed the ideologist of the ndc Atta Mills to sit on his throne, didnt matter that he had no clue of how to build or develop a nation . He then appointed his pepeni and intellectually inferior ministers so no one could challenge him or call him to order, what he desires the most is an authoritarian dictatorship so that's he secured obedience and loyalty at the expense of the constitution and the interests of the people. How many private sector investors have been rejected because they will or cant pay the bribes ? Without private capital govt borrowing only creates debt . He was not able to mobilize our last resource the diaspora to come and invest as when NDC came they made sure most of the business community incurred huge losses through abrogation of contracts , corruption and inflation of the cedi. First we had Kuffour who spent his 8 years of sophisticated corruption that made us loose control of our natural resources such as our gold and oil , then we had anther sorrow of an Ashanti minister of finance Duffuor whose was put there just to satisfy the balance of tribal politics but wrecked the economy by increasing govt borrowing and now advocated for hedging/gambling our oil , i wonder why they didn't first sell the golden stool or at least hedge it for the betterment of all of Ghana, no worries , when the war comes the stool will go for sure . Nkrumah allowed the primitive northerners and ewes to join Ghana in the hope that he could secure himself president for life with a dictatorship , had the USA allowed Mexico and all the other south American states to become part of their country they would never have developed as all that would have been their focus would be to rule even though they are not socially or intellectually ready to develop.Now its clear to all war is around the corner and elections may only turn out to be the spark that will bring about a fierce ethnic conflict leading to the breakup of the country as should have been over 100 years ago.

  The Buhari analogy is a false one. The ruling party that Buhari overcame was so entrenched that the opposition was fully determined to knock them off. Mahama and NDC are not so entrenched in Ghanaian politics. The party barely won the last general elections. They can still be beaten without an alliance of opposition parties.
  
  The NPP must make itself more attractive to voters across the country rather than try to go into alliances with individual parties. Even if NPP had gone into an official alliance with the PNC, those individual PNC supporters/members who don't like NPP will still not vote for it.
  
  NPP needs to refurbish itself completely. It needs a total re-orientation - one that will make the totality of the party appeal to a greater mass of Ghanaians. The party, as it is now, cannot reinvent itself. The biggest stumbling block is the Presidential candidate. No fresh air can be blown into the party with that man as the Presidential candidate.
  
  But, well, he can still win come next year - by a whisker of a margin!!!

  Elections are won with effective campaign strategy.Let me remind you about the history of NPP.The Busia,Danquah,Dombo and many other leaders across the country came together to form one political party known as the United Party.This is an alliance of not less than 6 different opposition parties against Kwame Nkrumah's CPP.Despite their concerted efforts,CPP beat them always in every general elections.This should tell you that an empty alliance can't win you elections but a pragmatic and effective campaign strategy will do the trick.As for now,NPP has lost the 2016 elections in advance on my drawing board.Thank you.

  To form alliance with other political parties will even make the job to victory easily by NDC. I have scrupulously noted that those who voted for PNC and other small parties, their second party after those small parties is NDC, NPP is seen as the worst tribal and arrogant which they don't want to have anything to do with it. That is to say, anything with mixture of NPP, they hate it.

  I don't understand Arthur K's analysis. How can he use the parliamentary results as a basis for the Presidential results. In 2012 the Presidential results were totally different for how the parliamentary panned out. They had no direct correlation.
