For those in the know and those less fortunate to know Nana Akufo-Addo and others touting or floating this bogus idea of separation between special prosecutors and the AG office need their heads examined. Ghana is one nation that has never had the guts to formulate an authentic Ghanaian idea and ideal; it has always been about copying what is practiced in the UK, USA or elsewhere.

Let Nana Akufo-Addo and all the yahoos pretending to be tough on crime and or bribery and corruption explain how special prosecution officers are assembled or created in those industrialized nations and under which department they operate. The Constitution of Ghana specified which government agency is responsible for prosecution and enforcement of our laws. Nana Akufo-Addo cannot create a special prosecution office that will be independent of the office of the AG; it is the AG and staff who will appoint a special prosecutor for any case. The special prosecutor’s job is temporary with the prosecutor selected from a list of lawyers who know their way around the courts.

Is there any lawyer in Ghana that is immune to party politics and or can ever be independent without party and tribal demands in Ghana? Please let us not delude ourselves in Ghana into thinking another layer of government will guarantee honesty. We are where we are because we are a nation of mostly unprincipled people; the actions of “men of God" says we are incapable of independent thinking and or honesty. Bribery, corruption and partisan preferences are here to stay.

Dr. Nduom would be the president in any country with reasonable citizens. I suggest that he partners with NPP to bring the change Ghana badly needs. I support NPP only because they offer some hope for a better government.
