Dekportor lives in Germany where same sex unions are legal and ant-discrimination laws protect all minorities including Ghanaians living there.
It is outrageous for him to write an article advocating the preservation of the discriminatory 'unnatural carnal knowledge' law which the judge correctly identified as bad law and accordingly stuck down.
Why is it bad law? In the first place it is in contravention of the United Nations Charter of Human Rights to which Ghana is a proud and esteemed member. That right means ALL citizens regardless of their sexuality are entitled to privacy and freedom of association. Tasmanian state law prohibiting unnatural carnal knowledge were held to be in breach of the UN Human Rights Charter when challenged by an Australian gay man, Rodney Crooke also 2 decades ago. It just shows how slow that Ghana's legal fraternity has taken to call out the same bad law but better late than never.
This article completely misses the point with no legal basis for his malevolent views. Legal cases are won and lost on legal frameworks, precedents and Ghana's commitment to its international treaties and legal obligations thereunder.
In time, Ghana will realise that marriage equality has benefited all countries adopting it. Apart from the economic benefits to the tourism industry associated with marriage ceremonies, the recognition makes for a more harmonious society. South Africa has had no adverse impact from allowing all citizens to marry, regardless of their gender. That change in the law came about from a ruling of the constitutional court of South Africa. Let's hope Ghana's Supreme Court will make a similar ruling when presented with a test case.

No matter what our courts say, the pressure from gay activists in the west is going to mount. I can sell u the Akosombo Dam if u think the USA is going to respect our courts. Kenya has decided that legally it is a crime and it means nothing to the west. This is not a legal battle. What is stopping some African govmts is that they know most African see gayism as taboo. Any opposition would have a field day.

If it's "unnatural," it's impossible.
So a law that makes impossible illegal can hardly be a legitimate law.
