The best article so far about this gay thing. I only have 2 contributions to make. If you dont want America and Europe telling you what to do then advice your politicians to stop messing up Africa. They should stop the corruption and the looting and manage their nations properly and stop going around the world begging for money.

Any time you depend on another, the independent is likely to dictate to the dependent. IF we can manage our affairs properly there will no need for an American or European aid hence no dictatorships from them.

Secondly as much as most of the world frowns upon homosexuality even here in the USA among conservatives the occurrence is on the increase world wide. Have we stopped at any point to try to find out why it is on the increase? I think such an answer will go a long way to help future generations.

Gays have freedom to live as they want, we just refuse to accept the life style as the new norm, its an abnormality, its against the very laws of nature.

Kofi Mensah's grandmother who happens to be a Traditionalist can only pour libation to her Ancestors and Gods in her privacy. Since 2011, under the late President Atta-Mills, through an Executive Order, banned the pouring of libation during national celebrations in violation of Article 21 (1) (c) of the 1992 Constitution which states that 'All persons shall have the right to freedom to practice any religion and to manifest such practice.' Even though, Traditionalists are Ghanaians and should be protected under Article 21 (1) (c), his successor, President John Dramani Mahama continues to enforce Atta-Mills decree to the letter. United States Constitution guarantees free exercise so does the Ghanaian Constitution. If there is any discrimination that President Obama wanted to address in Africa, it would have been the right of this author's grandmother to freely practice her religion and to be able to pray for the wellbeing her beloved nation. President Obama failed to address her plight.

I don’t intend to equate corruption to gay marriage; however, for the purpose of this discussion let me ask you, which of the two (gay marriage and corruption) is more dangerous to our society? Is it the gay person that is doing their own thing in their privacy or the rampant corruption that is resulting in the super majority of our people living in abject poverty? Let’s stop the hypocrisy for if you or your culture or religion is against gay marriage, the same self or religion or culture is or must equally be against corruption. You live in a society where (it is common knowledge) adults sleep with teens with impunity and yet there are no consequences for those actions. For example, you have senior secondary school teachers (in their mid-life) sleeping with student girls (12-16 years) and nothing ever happens to them. Let’s not cherry pick if we want to point to our culture or religion for our objection to gay marriage for the same culture or religion is also against corruption and yet we celebrate corruption. Shame on us that Eric Amoateng was welcome home as a HERO after he had been released from jail, after serving years for drug trafficking. There communities in Asia which practice polyandry (one wife several husbands). For those who claim that homosexuality is a choice, I ask you, can you decide to be homosexual if you choose to. If your answer is yes, then you are gay, or at least bisexual. If you answer is no, then homosexuality is not a choice. For you Christians, I don't know why you reject Gods creation. Satan does not create he only corrupts, if God allows him to corrupt children at birth (because some homosexual tendencies are obvious at birth) then that is not fair. But the God I believe in is fair. Satan is us, who reject part of His creation.

Marriage is a social institution that is why marriage differs from society to society. In fact, there are societies where marriage does not exist. These tend to be matriarchal societies. One such society exists in China. Some societies practice polyandry, wher a woman is married to several men, usually brothers. The honourable doctor who wrote this article should first prove that homosexuality is not natural before he gets into his rather contradictory arguments. If he happens to be one of those who think that homosexuality is a choice, I have a simple question for him, can he make that choice today if he wanted to? If the answer is no, then homosexuality is not a choice. If it is yes, then he is at least bisexual. Doctor, please research the topic further before getting into territory that you obviously don't know or understand. As Pope Francis said, who is he to judge homosexuals.
