However, when Frank Mensah tells the world "www.Ghanahero.com/visions is fro idiots", we are forced to comment in cultural terms "Frank Mensah" will understand, especially!

There is a statement by a columnist on the other side who never directly respond to the column he articulate to, or to the comments commenters provide. We are guessing he is strandad on the "Land of the Last Manna".

For instance, when we provided comments that it was a lie and a farce that the "Great Northern Railroad" (GN) did not prosper on government intervention, they came back with the same argument, then again.

But the GN railroad received millions of acres of Indian land for free from the US government, or paid precious little for them. That allowed the railroad to establish itself by selling the lands to new immigrants at huge profit, and thus acquiring the "capital" for their so-called "Free Enterprise Railroad".

The government protected GN at tax payers expense so their rail tracks and system will not be "attacked" or be "invaded" by "Indians"

But the "40 Acres and a Mule" was never delivered to the "Freed Slaves", Blacks, notwithstanding the promise by the government.

Every idiot can tell the difference!

As far as we are concerned, that is government largess for the "preferred". We wrote about that in our "He Who Opens "Can of Worms" Before Time Kills Tree of Light!" just the other day, and will have more under that same "banner"/title. (End of digress).

So, on that "Absent-Minded Columnist" side, there is a statement about an Akan proverb that says there is a "Mensah" in every town.

By that analogy, www.Ghana.com cannot be a website "fro idiots" alone.

So we agree, "Frank Mensah's position is weak, to put it charitably.

It is good we are all looking at the various causes of the failure or non functioning of the state , we say its a failed state because it does not benefit the people in any way. The compromises made in the constitution totally erased any true obligation for public officials /civil servants to work for the welfare of the people . Rather they created priviledge , untouchable , can do no wrong , non accountable groups that like vampires suck the people dry . We now have whole groups that are practically above the law . Laws are meant to oppress all those who are unlucky enough to have their tribe , ethnic group or relatives not affiliated to the ruling tribe or elite. We have developed a system of governance worse than than the Indian castes or monarchy of the middle ages as no development can ever succeed that doesnt tap all the potential of the whole nation. Whole groups based on ethnic backgrounds are excluded this was started by Achampong who appointed his Ashantis , continued by JJ who had a preference for Ewes and now Mahama who only trusts his relatives and northerners . In all fairness the we can not blame the ordinary northerners and ewes who have taken advantage of this mess did so because the bogus constitution allows it. This constitution encourages elitism , ethnocentrism , hegemony and a privileged corrupt class of civil servants . There is no partisan politics only tribal affliations which facilitate enmity . There can never be national unity so we Akans opt to secede since we now have the numbers and pupulation to create a sustainable state . In the late 40's and 50's the pupulation of Ghana was around 5 million today just the Fanti speakers of the western and central regions are more than 5 million which is more than enough to create a new state , Africa can only unite , develop and be free when these imperialistic colonial borders are broken. We all know the political arena is polarized based on ethnic divides rather than political ideology and all sides have deeply dug their trenches and can not afford to loose which is a ripe situation for political violence which will lead to ethnic war . Any war started on this principle if it lasts longer than a month will automatically lead to the break down and secession of the various nations or tribes as the white man would classify. Let us not focus our energies on the hatrad of our enemies rather diligently prepare to create our own nation out of this mess. The blue print for creation of new nations and the obligations are in the Bible and a any nation ignoring this requirement given by God will suffer. God gives you a language and territory its up to you to fight with blood for freedom , long live the republic of Akan

But, it is an "insight" alright for many people who never heard about the special preferences for the big shots in government - politicians.

Further, as we've written elsewhere more than once, Mr. Kuffour had more than 7 years to remove or tame the canker in the Constitution(s), even remove the Indemnity Clause (or revise).

Mr. Kuffour did not spend any capital on the work that truly needed to be done.

This is a simple thing to fix! As such, we do not want, or appreciate any "drama", the way you position yourself in this particular situation.

This has been made possible with the protection of these criminal gangsters in powerby the tribal military officers, police and national security,who are themselves part of the looting brigade. Since every gov't employee pays income tax and since those national wreckers are government employees, there is no reasonable justification for them not to pay their fair share of income tax. What is members of Parliament going to do about the unfairness. I think, it is their responsibility as Parliamentarians to take the issue up for discussion and come out with legislation that will not exempt anyone including the President from not paying income tax when everybody other than them pay their fair share.

Yes, Jerry Rawlings put together a bunch of fishermen, farmers, market women, village chiefs and pdc/wdc layabouts, supervised by his handpicked rogue lawyers, to cobble together a suffocating document they called constitution. With the help of his rogue socialist lawyers, he inserted indemnity clauses by cover of night, while he still held the mass of Ghanaians at gun point.

He then conned Ghanaians into a bogus "Heads I win, Tails you lose" referendum to shackle the nation with a Constitution that does very little for the people, but gives enormous powers to the President to do as he pleases.

Now with a hopeless Parliament and toothless judiciary any president can gang up with his family and cronies to milk the people dry, without anybody doing a damn thing about it.

Kufuor and Mills both found it to be good and did nothing about it and now Mahama and Amissah-Arthur with their numerous siblings and cousins are riding the gravy train with relish!

I guess this guy is a member of acid party NPP and trying to disgrace president Mahama, when former president Kufour was taking home his tax free salary, why you didn't complain and yet the whole president was saying he himself his salary is very small when doctors were in strike in 2003 for salary increment. This write up is immaterial here.

In fact, our back of the envelop calculation informed is Mr. Mahama gave back about $618, but kept more than $1,200, plus all the benefits and per diem.

BUT, we will indulge you here, since this is important business. From our first essay:

The shenanigans began with the composition of the Consultative Assembly. It was designed to have a membership of 260 but it ended up 2 short because the Ghana Bar Association and the National Union of Ghana Students expressed their objection to the composition and operation of the bogus assembly with a boycott of the entire process. Ghanaians would be blaming them today if they had been part of this daylight robbery.
The 258 member body comprised 22 handpicked surrogates of the PNDC, 121 members appointed by 62 corporate groups and 117 members indirectly elected by District Assemblies. Now don't be fooled by the composition of its membership but instead remember that the entire country was still under the strong arm rule of the PNDC. Every member of the CA was essentially either a clone, surrogate or an apparatchik of the PNDC.
The CA was a hoax and a design by the PNDC to win international legitimacy. Every step of the drafting process was initiated and directed by the PNDC working from behind the curtain. Throughout the process it retained the right to insert and make changes according to their whims and caprices. This right was exercised every step of the way,the last being the addition of a blanket indemnity clause for PNDC members. Finally Ghanaians living in the diaspora were barred from participating in the Referendum to approve the Constitution. Don't ask me why Prof Lungu and all others who live in advanced democracies would be restrained from participating in a national referendum.
Folks,when a national constitution is written for the sole benefit of a cabal and their self seeking supporters why do we expect the constitution to suddenly and magically work to the benefit of all Ghanaians. Mahama and others are just taking advantage of the huge lapses and deficiencies in the 1992 constitution. If we want to see progress, equal opportunity, fairness and equal justice for every Ghanaian then we need to put the present constitution under the microscope and make monumental changes or rewrite the entire constitution.

Anyway, its so sad that this essay is the reality and even more, upon all these abnormal courtesies some woefully fail to deliever to alleviate the suffering of the masses and are quick to use hush words when competent performances are demanded from them. The sadder aspect is, they term themselves as the masses oriented government. I wonder what goes through their minds when they are reciting the national pledge and singing national anthem respectively. By the way, most of them doesn't even know the words though. Thank you
