  Sometimes im left in a state of confusion with the different kinds of Nurses/Institutions springing up in the country.You walk in the street and u are likely to come across a Nurse wearing pure white with a blue apron who is just a Healthcare certificate yet parades herself as a Midwife,some in blue with a white collar, others in brown etc.Nursing indeed!

  afia.whether certicate or not,they are the people who clean your parents up when they soil themselves,even when families give up on them.they sacrifice their night sleep just to make sure your sisters fever is managed.they accept postings to rural areas just to make sure your grandmother in the villages wound is cared for.if the appropriate institutions grants them permission for training,even if it's a certificate,these girls love them and will do anything to see a smile on a patients face.

  Nursing is a vocation and only those who are called will be good nurses. I f your parents pay large monies for you to get admission , bare in mind , you should be called into the job.

  nursing has evolved from vocation into a profession with defined values.apart from the inherent trait of nurses,they are being taught how to care.it has moved from just cleaning into an evidenced based where nurses takes responsibility for their actions and inactions.many factors affects caring.tertiary education is now driven by job security.what is wrong with females rushing into nursing if it's the only security for providing for their families? I ask,with the rush as u claim,has it still bridged the long gap between nurse patient ratio of about 17 patient to 1 nurse? advanced countries who have trained all categories of nurses still open arms to brain drain the nurses from developing countries such as Ghana.maternal mortality reduced to bearest minimum with some of these young girls accepting postings into very deprived communities ,being cut away from light,internet,and other forms of communication.you will be shocked to see the aggregates with which nursing students possess,which could equally get them admission into the engineering and medical school.supposing she qualifies,are there schorlarships for the girl child education.? the Gmc will even want to have a proof Ur guarantor has more than 20000 Ghana cedis in his account b4 admission is offered.so again,what is wrong In girls pursuing nursing.read the history and evolution of the profession before you talk about this group.

  Amoako stop.showing ur ignorance in public. the writer never said all nurses failed their wassce. she only used "some failed" as an example. moreover be informed that if degree nurses and those from private nursing schools are absorbed directly into the health workforce that ratio will be met. do u know the number of Unemployed degree nursing holders and those who schooled in private ntc's?
  
  The writer did not also condemn young girls rushing into nursing but a wake up call for them to think bigger. why should all girls only be nurses? anyway is nursing the most paid profession of ladies?
  stop the hate counter argument .. ur attitude smacks of a hate counter
