  I quote from the writers own article.(If this assertion is anything to go by, then Ghana’s population in 2011 would be 2.5% of 2500000 = 625,000, adding this figure to 25,000,000 = 25,625,000).This writer should have taken time to go over what he intended to put to the public.The first figure he gave was two million five hundred thousand.2.5% of which will give you 62,500.He continued to base all his calculations on this wrong figures making his article and opinion completely flawed.

  Koo, please be fair to the writer. It is only the first figure that he missed a zero; that is, instead of 25,000,000, he wrote 2,500,000. You can however noticed that in the subsequent figures, he added 625,000 to 25000000 and not 2500000 that's why he had 25,625,000 and not 2,562,500 as you seem to portray. Again, the writer never based his calculations on 62,500 in the rest of the calculations and therefore does not make the analysis flawed. Check your facts next time.

  But is this enough to spend money that the government doesn't have to start a whole new register? I still don't understand why the NPP aren't challenging these voters and having them deleted from the register. Delete the suspect voters from the register and get rid of the bloat.
  
  Unless it's millions of paper documents in file cabinets, I don't see a reason to start a whole new register.

  The official 2014 demographics show that Ghana’s total population is 25,758,108. Of that, a whopping 38.6 or 9,932,274 are under 14 years of age. So even including the 15 to 17 year olds, just 61.4 or 15,815,478 are eligible to vote. That means if the electoral register has 14,000,000, an incredible 88.5% of the eligible voters are registered to vote in national elections.
  
  Even in Europe where registration is mandatory (voting is not) and where people can register online in the comfort of their living rooms, countries do not achieve that level of registration. In fact, there is no country in the democratic world that achieves 50% national registration. And of course, even Afari-Djan admitted in 2012 that Ghana’s electoral register is over-bloated and not fit for purpose
  
  Check the results of Election 2012 and it will give you some idea why Kpone Katamanso, Ga West and Adetan have such increases. Joe, maybe you and Asiedu Nketia should speak to Yaw Boateng-Gyan (from the Ghana Cote d’Ivoire borders) and Dr Kwabena Adjei from (Nkonya-Ntsumuru on the Togolese borders) about the figures form the border areas. Get my drift?

  I could care less about NDC or NPP. A "new" register does nothing to guarantee that these parties or others won't try elaborate tricks to get unqualified people on the register.
