Gabby, I am sure you are aware that the Supreme Court ruled dual citizenship certificate or the requirement for dual citizens to apply for and hold dual citizenship certificate unconstitutional and null and void in the case of Prof Stephen Kwaku Asare versus The Attorney General. So since May 22, 2012 Ghanaian dual citizenship is automatic and one does not need to apply and hold a certificate which is of no value. However, one must prove his/her Ghanaian citizenship as required by Ghanaian Citizenship law.

Of course, if over 76,000 Ghanaians resident in Togo are on Ghana's Voters' Register that is a matter of concern. The question is, can they all prove their Ghanaian citizenship as defined by law?

I agree with you that the Ghanaian media has failed to influence strategic policies in Ghana by not following through important national issues. I expected that following Bawumia's or NPP's press conference on the double registration, journalists would have followed up and identified some of the individuals who appear on both registers and find out if they are really Ghanaians or dual citizens of Ghana. Since the names and addresses were provided, that would have been very easy to do. Finally, I also blame Bawumia/NPP for not being able to identify a sample of the 76,000 to find out if they are truly Ghanaians or dual citizens of Ghana who are eligible to register and vote in Ghana.

Well, yes, the Supreme Court may have ruled in favour of Asare. No one needs to apply for and get an identity card to show his dual citizenship.

Try telling the immigration at KIA that the Supreme Court has ruled against the dual citizenship application so they should allow you entry on your UK passport.

Of course, I know you will leave the UK with your UK passport and enter Ghana with your Ghana passport and reverse the operation when you're going back. But you could have done that even without the Supreme Court ruling.

So, you see, the Supreme Court ruling is, IN PRACTICE, null and void. Dual citizen Ghanaians who do not have a valid Ghanaian passport must still get a Ghanaian visa to enter Ghana - OR USE THEIR GREEN DUAL CITIZENSHIP IDENTITY CARDS!

They spend all their time discussing npp, when every sector of the country has collapsed under this useless and ethnocentric govt?!

They think with this brand of journalism they've got someone not knowing they've got their own selves. If Ghana collapses everybody will bear the brunt. So they should forget about the thievery and the incompetence of the NDC and waste all their time on internal issues of the NPP, at the end of the day we shall see the losers.

Just say yes or no and then maybe you can go on to say what you said.

There are a lot of people who are stealing or "sighting" private details of others for all sorts of fraudulent activities.

If there is no legitimate reason why another person who would not normally have access to your private details suddenly blurts out like this individual has done, I would be worried indeed. I would advise you to immediately change all your passwords and upgrade your data security.

You don't know what he will be "sighting" next, your bank details perhaps.

He is frantically rooting for his tribesman to become President. I wonder what will be the personal benefit for him. What post will Nana give him if he wins?

Anyway, many of us want to see the back of Mahama. Gabby says NPP is the only credible alternative. But that is exactly what is giving us the jitters...
