  I enjoyed your article very much.However,I have one problem with the term "Sub-Saharan".We should stop using this demeaning term coined by "white colonialists".Do we have Upper Sahara,no? Africa is a whole continent and we are part of it.We are so daft to the extent that we even call our own region which is about the size of USA, West Africa Sub-region.What sort of inferiority complex is that? I hope our own scribes and politicians will stop using the offensive Sub-Saharan term.

  Great Article Dzifa. I see your pain, and hope you will succeed where others have found great difficulty. The problem I find with these textile companies is that they're not competitive. There's greed. GTL and ATL failed because the workers had their own consignments. They undermine the company that employs them and put food on the table.

  Sister Dziffa Akua Ametam, like you I have resister becoming US citizen, after living there for more than two decades.
  
  I was taken aback by the overwhelming consumerism - a cultural pattern nurtured by the federal & state governments, rich corporations & small businesses.
  
  Consumerism has now spread around the world, and has become the dominant paradigm across most cultures including Ghana's.
  More and more Ghanaians are defining themselves through how they consume and are striving day in & day out to own or use more stuff, whether in appliances,, fashion, food, footwear, automobiles, electronics, or numerous other products.
  
  What I am afraid of is that we are imperceptibly becoming dependent on imports and will eventually lose our freedom.
  
  We have to consume made-in-Ghana products or...
