  We know that planning for the interim- to future-term sustainably and faithfully executing is the only way to rescue Ghana. In that sense, we must both be on the same page.
  
  But, to the extent the Mahama NDC government is not aggressively attacking the energy problem like Nkrumah did with Akosombo/VRA, sustainably by programming for Solar Energy, progress will be delayed; and when achieved, it would be higher cost and uncertainty.

  2. You are factually inaccurate! In 1966 when Nkrumah was overthrown, there was "light" in more areas than "central Accra", unless you are thinking Accra was Ghana. (Read the essay again - it is about "power" and "energy").
  
  4. The power from Akosombo/VRA is still powering Ghana with "lights", and more (e.g., industry).
  
  ITEM: There was no Dum-Sor when Nkrumah was overthrown. (This statement is technically/factually correct).

  Your "WE WERE HUNGRY AND LINED UP TO BUY MILK FOR OUR BREAKFAST" goes to an aspect of the Nkrumah development scheme: Import Substitution.
  
  In Ghana, how many of your great/.../great/ grand-parents ate "MILK FOR...BREAKFAST"? Obviously, the colonizers had an interest in keeping people like you dependent on their factories and "metropolitan" economies.
  
  To the point: The vast majority of the people people did not eat milk for anything!
  
  Further, also directly to your point, you "WERE HUNGRY AND LINED UP TO BUY MILK FOR (Y)OUR BREAKFAST" because a wayward bunch of traitors (Ankrah, Afrifa, Harlley, Nunoo, Deku, Busia, Kotoka, etc.) were part of the ploy to quickly destroy Ghana's economy so (1) Nkrumah would never see the success of Akosombo/VRA, and thus benefit from that success, politically, (2) the independence of Ghana would still remain meaningless and economic and political freedom to trade and organize in mutual respect between the Ghana, the US, UK, France would be null, among other reasons.
  
  As this essay and several of our essay posit, Ghana lost bib time, and Ghana is still losing.
  
  So, which side do you want to be, JATO KWASHIVI RAWLINGS:

  On the other hand your critics are mostly good at child-like effusions, negative historical revisionism, and locational waywardness in terms of psychological dislocation.

  Professor, You amaze some of us. Because somebody has plans to build and maintain a hydro-electric facility he should be allowed to subvert a national constitution, pass unjust laws and declare himself president for life while spending our money in pursuit of self-aggrandizement. Yes, Nkrumah was great as far as his contribution to the Africaliberation struggle was concerned. But to the extent that he mortgaged our economic future and took away our freedoms in Ghana, he was a 'small Ghanaian' as Ali Marzrui perceptily judged. It is indeed the height of lunacy to think that a whole nation should submit to the oppression of one man because he was so intelligent, handsome and visionary. Spare us that kind of lunacy!

  Makes us think you seem to be living in the 1950s, when the "plans to build and maintain a hydro-electric facility" were been developed.
  
  It is long fait accompli, for crying out loud!
  
  And you've been benefiting from all that "spending...money in pursuit of self-aggrandizement...". In that sense, you don't get to eat your egg and have it, too.
  
  Thank, Nkrumah "mortgaged our economic future" is laughable, really!
  
  ITEM: All that "mortgaging" began with the NLM-NLC-PP, when they took money and other benefits from foreign governments directly and indirectly to subvert the Constitution you reference.

  Just unthinkable that after nearly 60 years of independence, the people of Ghana are suffering the impact of REWS: inadequate good multi-lane national ROAD network, insufficient ENERGY tagged Dumsor, inadequate safe WATER supply, and poor SANITATION.
  
  These are the 4 PILLARS of development as demonstrated by all the developed countries. Lost decades indeed; the time to rectify this anomaly is now if the county is to catch up with some development. WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL BY END OF 2016. This will save the country enormous healthcare bills incurred in just treating water-borne diseases.
