  The writing was not meant to address why the pilgrims died; it is about the senselessness of questioning the existence of Allah at an even that was organized (by man) to honor the same Allah. As to why the pilgrims died, the writer was not responsible for the autopsy (if any) on the dead. Lastly, religion is all about FAITH, not scientific proof or logic.

  First of all, it is a general belief among christendom that Allah is only the God of Muslims. For your information, the word Allah existed among arabs before the advent of islam which means God. Prophet Muhammed S.A.W did not invent the name for arabs or islam.It shd be noted that Christian Arabs like Boutros Ghali, Tarek Aziz and Hanan Asrawi will refer to God as Allah if they speak arabic.
  Jona should remember that the Akan does not have problem identifying God as Nyame and that does not repudiate his understanding of God.
  On the more substantive issue, Jona u need to know that people are destined to die one day and God choses to take our lives at will at any time and location. But have you asked yourself why Rev Eastwood Anaba lost his children in a motor accident? Have you questioned why the SCOAN of TB JOSHUA had its building collapse with death casualties. Where was Jesus then?

  This writer actually drew my attention to the existence of Igwe's article, so I went back to read it. In one of the comments I was drawn to a Muslim site where people are recounting their experiences and reasons for leaving the Islam faith, you can take a peek for yourself at www.quora.com/Ex-Muslims/How-did-it-feel-to-leave-Islam. I didn't realise there were Muslims who doubted their religion, let alone break the stranglehold it had on them. Reading what these ex-muslims hated about Islam has taught me things I never knew about Islam. It won't be out of place to say that some Muslims feel trapped in a religion whose teachings are in direct conflict with their morals and beliefs. For instance a woman can only prove rape if she can produce four male witnesses who saw the actual penetration. Or for instance Mohammed marrying a little girl of six and having sex with her at age nine. How about 72 virgins waiting for any male who is killed in the line of Allah's duty; and what of the female suicide bombers, what awaits them in the muslim heaven, 72 virgins males? Oh c'mon black muslims, when are you going to start displaying self-conceived wisdom and stop relying on ancient Arabic hallucinations who see you as slaves anyway!
  
  Leo Igwe was right in his assertions about god. When is he going to man up and be held accountable for all the bad things going on around, like looking on nonchalantly while 700 people perish at his shrine, be it at the mosque or church? Also, if he is so great what stops him killing non believers himself instead of relying on people to do his dirty work for him? It looks like he cannot get anything done without getting the gullible to do it for him, again where is his greatness?

As I have previously stated elsewhere on this article, GOD created us all and gave us the freedom to do his will. But sadly mankind decided to go for freewill and do as he wished. This is what has led us to our present state. The aim of all religions without exception is to teach their followers to regain this freedom by doing GOD's will. Jesus said 'As you sow so shall you reap'. This is the law of KARMA. All the major religions teach this doctrine. It is only when mankind returns to live the laws which are GOD that peace will return to this world. For example God is not going to intervene to stop ISIS from killing people, or stop Assad from bombing his people or stop the ordinary person from shoplifting, or breaking into a house at east legon or any such petty crime. As you sow so shall you reap and so those who indulge in such crimes will get their just rewards in due time. GOD's law is not human law. There are no lawyers who can indulge in legal gymnastics to get a strange verdict from God. God is NOT going to kill any of us because we have done the wrong thing. part of him is in everyone of his creation which is the SPIRIT. The same spirit is in the murderer, thief, Osamabin Laden, Hitler. All of these people will at the end of time have to make that journey back to GOD. many religions unfortunately have decided to abandon reincarnation as one of the teachings. How can you account for the horrible things that happen to people like the deaths in the Syrian war etc. Do you know what these people have done in their past lives to warrant what they get in the present life? Hitler committed hideous crimes before he killed himself, do you think he will get away with it in Hell somewhere? Of course he will spend some time in 'hell' but will reincarnate to make amends through karma to be able to make that journey back to GOD. It will take him many lives (reincarnations) to do this.

However one thing that orthodox religions have taught their members is that GOD is some being who would always prevent incidents like this one at the Hajj from happening because they were there on a religious activity. Far from it. God the ABSOLUTE will not prevent accidents from happening to people who pretend to be his people but behind the scenes indulge in the things the religions admonish the followers to avoid. Jesus said 'As you sow, so SHALL you reap, not MAY you reap. I am not a moslem, but I believe the teachings include what Jesus taught as quoted above. This doctrine is in all other religions, including Budhism, Hunduism etc. Mankind should re-examine themselves and return to live the LAWS which are GOD as originally taught by all the major religions.

I think it is an opportunity for men of faith such s yourself to let all believers know that despite what the go through God is still in control. That there is God, despite the troubles in the world. One needs to respond with a critical response, devoid of insult, to prove to this guy that our faith teaches us that despite what we see, God is still supreme.
