  For Rev. Oquaye to try to embellish history by this childish slant and stupidly given oxygen by this sterile pedant call Ahoofe is unfortunate.
  
  When your adversary had surrendered with his white flag flying high all you need to do next is to sign the capitulation terms and agreement.
  
  The interlude between the capitulation and surrender to the signing of the peace agreement does not affect the fact that there had been a surrender.
  
  What followed next were mere formalities and that is what happened.To formalize the terms.For any one to say that it was something different must be delusional.

  Ironically, it had to be seconded by the Leader of the Opposition.
  
  If you go back to the history of some of the inimical laws that were passed by Ghana's Parliament immediately after independence, the Governor-General was always "conveniently" absent from Ghana, and it fell on poor Sir Arku Korsah as the Chief Justice and "Acting Governor-General", to sign them into laws. Eventually, one of those laws caught up with him! "They came for homosexuals and I did not protest because I was not a homosexual, they came for the Jews and I did not protest because I was not a Jew, they came for me and there was no one to protest," sort of!
  
  Whatever side we belong to, we can put whatever slant we like on the independence of Ghana, but it began way back in 1844, with the signing of the Bond of 1844 and a lot happened between that time and 1947!

  KKO, honestly, I have to say I don't have the scholarly expertise on the broad historical events before and during the declaration of Ghana's independence. However, I believe its "final success" was the collective battle and cumulative influence of pressure/political groups, and individuals who fought alongside Nkrumah deserve to be highlighted and treated similarly.
  
  Clearly, if only our historians are intellectually honest and fair, our history should recognise the contribution, importance and impact of certain events and individuals.

  And no amount of revisionist legerdemain from you; or any twisted leitmotif from the right, wouldn't suffice to rewrite the proud annals of our history: being the first Black African nation to gain self - government, in March, 1957. That can't be changed, Minuah Okoampah-Ahoofe.
  
  The founding of Ghana is beyond politics.
