  And POWER too!
  
  Now, the numbers on the price of cocoa and VB Beetle are off a bit.
  
  For cocoa, as reported in 1966, the year Nkrumah was overthrown, the price for a ton dropped significantly during 1958-1966 (through western conspiracy against the CPP and Nkrumah), to just about 20% of the 1958 price.
  
  Thus, from a high $1,000 for one (1) ton in 1957, the price per ton dropped to $505 in 1963, then to $210 in 1965, rendering much of Ghana's development plan unworkable.
  
  This, even though the cocoa trusts had promised that Ghana could count on $560 to $700 per ton, through the early 1970s.
  
  Today, the price of cocoa on the world market is approx. $2,700.00 per ton, cheaper if we factor inflation into the equation.
  
  So, the price of a new $22,000.00 VW Beetle today is about 8 time more than the price of a ton of cocoa.
  
  ITEM: It is not just "knowledge" and "natural resources" that account for the significant difference in the well-being of counties today.
  
  It also has to do about POWER, who holds it, who has access to it, who gave it away when they had it, who wants you as a friend and equal partner.
  
  Ghanaians had quite a bit of power at independence, and soon after, under Kwame Nkrumah.
  
  But, Kotoka-Ankrah-Afrifa-Ocran-Nunoo-Harlley-Busia-NLM/NLC gave all of that power away. (Consider that when Nkrumah was overthrown at the hand of the Nonentities, Liars, and Crooks (NLC) under the direction of the CIA and the British, Ghana had suspended diplomatic relations with Britain, over the Rhodesian problem.
