  However, the Saudis spend huge sums on crowd control engineering. Accidents like this are bound to happen in large crowd gatherings. The fact that a big chunk of Hajj pilgrims are senior citizens doesn't also help.
  
  Maybe the Saudis should start imposing strict quotas on the Hajj so to control the crowds better.
  
  What an awful feeling to go for a religious pilgrimage and be presumed dead after getting missing.

  Thanks Halima for your thought provoking article on the 2015 Hajj tragedy which resulted in the death of at least 2000 pilgrims many of them from africa.The incident was purely due to the blatant incompetence of the saudi authorities but as usual we are being told that it was the will of Allah which led to the death of the pilgrims.So it is the will of Allah that all these people should die in such a horrific way?And yet no african country has protested against the death of their citizens.Yes, when it comes to international relations africa does not matter and the blame falls squarely at the feet of our leaders.When you expect them to stand up for their nations and citizens they just fail to do it.A big minus to our leaders,a big shame to all of them.The world will always take africa and africans for granted.

Look at the treatment meted out to Africans in Lybia in recent times. If you are demanding to be respected:Dream on!!! How could such a tragedy apparently caused by the arrogance of a Saudi Prince blamed on African pilgrims.

  You don't have to lie about your religious affiliation or faith to raise this very important issue.You've expose yourself unknowingly in your article but, you deserve commendation. Don't expect to hear anything from our leaders when it comes to dealings with the Saudi government because they are in their pocket. I will partly blame the Hajj board , organizers and our local Imams in Ghana for not keeping up to their responsibility.
