Gabby as much as I agree with some of the issues you have raised in the article, I am still of the view that NPP as a party has failed to prove that the Voters' Register contains double registrants from Ghana and Togo to the tune of at least, over 76,000. This is because NPP has failed to try and identify some of such people in Ghana. This could be easily done by asking NPP members/local executives to identify some of them. That to me made the NPP claims as mere allegations.

From what was reported to have been said by Dr Gyampo that NPP's claims are baseless as well as Kwaku Baako claiming on Saturday's Newsfile that a bird has whispered into his ears that the alleged scanned photo IDs on the register as NPP claimed were fabricated.

The two put together suggest that NPP's claims may not be credible. I say so because it appears IEA's Winner Takes All Advisory Group that is coordinated by Dr Gyampo has some working relationship with the EC and may have some inside information. Why do I say so? It was that group who in August 2014 first suggested or recommended to the EC that elections should be held in November and last week the EC announced November 7 as potential general elections date.

Having said the above, I am also as confused as you why the EC has set up this group of eminent Ghanaians on this matter. My confusion among others are: what exactly will the group do? Are they to do some preliminary audit of the register in order to be in a position to advise the EC or recommend what the EC should do? Are they to investigate the NPP's claims and if not what is the EC doing specifically to address the claims? If it is merely holding a consultation forum with the public why the inclusion of experts in IT and Statistics?, etc.

I perfectly agree with your concerns over the inclusion of the retired SC Justice and formed Electoral Commissioner in the group. This is because he has publicly made his views on the matter known and therefore not an impartial party.

I am also not sure about the legal basis of the setting of the group. I thought the EC is not supposed to be influenced in its decision making by any individual or group. Does setting up a group who are not members of the EC for the purpose of making recommendations to the EC on such an important matter not amount to influence (even if the group's recommendation is not binding on the EC)? You are a lawyer and perhaps better understand it than me.

Finally, I am worried that NPP is putting to much emphasis on Charlotte Osie and not the seven member Commissioners. She is only one out of seven and she could be outvoted by the other members. The attention should be on the seven commissioners and not only the Chairwoman.
