The view of the article's author is interesting. Yes, Ghana lacks the human resources needed to be able to benefit from foreign investments the way industrialized nations such as The UK do. However, the cost of training highly skilled labor force is declining in this era of technological advancements. The kind of universities Ghana needs are those with effective investments in areas such as online learning (MOOCs), with cost-effective human intervention. Too much is spent on building structures that are worth a mere fraction of the public funds allocated.

At long last the much derided communists are business savvy enough to rescue the much trumpeted and over-hyped capitalist country. Nkrumah was right all along that "STATE" enterprise and private capital were fundamental to our growth in the early stages of our national development. The British are now kow-towing to the Chinese. The British are no longer talking about one-party state dictatorship and all the nonsense they levelled against Nkrumah"s regime. China"s appalling human rights record are on a back burner. They deprived us of a visionary leader on some "imaginary" communist nonsense only to embrace a real communist leader fifty years later.
