Don't be worried about this cow matter. All the religions have some things like that which they revere or abhor.the important thing is to respect your neighbour as yourself. likewise in manner, Moslem's don't eat pork meat.
Muslims don't eat pork because of it's ill health but do not worship it.
Some indians worship cows but at the same time India is a big exporter of beef.
80% of Indians is not "some Indians" - it is overwhelming majority. Also India exports buffalo meat - not cow meat. And buffalo meat is not beef, it is buffalo.
