The below statement from the self-claimed Professor (Lungu) is false, all the figures there in are stupidly cooked misinformation.
You are misleading not only your narrow minded troop but also the general public. NO WHERE IN GHANA IS THE POWER CAPACITY OF 1,500 megawatt(MW)installed.
Besides Ghana needs not 2,936 Megawatt(MW)but at most 2,000 MW
--------------------
According to Lungu's blantant lies:
... Now, only 1,500 megawatt (MW) or 51 per cent of the country’s 2,936 MW installed capacity of power is currently available...
--------------------
Ghana is currently not producing even up to 800 Megawatt (MW) Power.
Lungu, stop misimforming and misleading the public with your baseless and useless trash.
Join your best francis kwarteng and bury your 4 squared empty heads in the hot sand if you people have nothing better for Ghanaweb than posting crap.

They are replica clones of the low info trogdolytes that form the base of the soon to collapse Republican party of the United States!! The kind of people who claim government is evil, socialism is a calamity, but hands off my social security and medicare!!
MATEMEHO adherents, their NPP political vehicle are a pale but malevolent shadow of their plutocratic white supremacist fascist owners who currently own the republican party!!
Guess where their NADAA was currying favor last week: The Heritage Foundation, Washington DC!! One needs nothing more to confirm that MATEMEHOFU are in fact fifth columnist native saboteurs/ lackeys wholly owned by the neocolonialist American National Security State!!

The "PATHOLOGICAL HATRED FOR NKRUMAH "even prevents them from seeing, when they win.
They live to fight the shadow of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It is a fight they've always lost, since before the Independence of Ghana.
And they will never win in the 21st Century and beyond, to eternity and Inity!
And so, they dwell on trivialities of extra "s"s, "missing ts", and fancy English words they themselves cannot properly spell, or understand in context of what they claim to have read just 1 minute earlier.

Hi Prof Lungu the factors taken into account in your economic analysis in re an alternative energy/economic strategy based on solar energy generation are self evident! The economic returns are many facetted!! The cash savings alone are a source of capital that could be deployed to establish capital intensive basic industries that are a prerequisite for rapid industrial ization!! The crude oil and natural gas that would be used in thermal plants could be used as feedstock in a chemical manufacturing industry to provide employment and products a& inputs vitally important to the secondary manufacturing sector! In the current situation the few such establishments in Ghana and our sub region have to expend precious hard currency to import these inputs, rendering them hostage to the vagaries of the international market where they generally pay the highest prices thereby forcing them to rely on cheap labor as their sole competitive advantage!! Consequently workers in these sectors will never get the renumeration jlet
ified by their increased productivity a further hindrance to improving the general standard of living!! The rate of return on using our oil and gas as chemical industry feedstock is far larger by orders of magnitude as opposed to burning in thermal power generation, not to speak of avoiding the hazards of environmental degradation like chemical rain and global warning!! Indeed the knock on effects of what you prophesy and advocate are all positive and beyond my ken to quantify, but will indubitably generate huge positive returns!! Forgive me for using an imperialist metaphor: it would be the real world equivalent of hitting consecutive sixes in cricket or three or four consecutive "outta the ballpark home runs" while "hitting for the cycle" in baseball!!
Keep slugging Prof, you are much appreciated!!

Thanks for the reminder, Prof Lungu.
My friends sent me a pic yesterday from the photo-op session of the Ghanaian delegation meeting PM Modi and the Indian delegation asking me to spot the difference in the pic. This was not hard at all. Mahama, in his batakari, was shaking hands with Modi in an impressive Indian attire. On each side were the two delegations. Oh the PM's side was the Indian delegation, each member clutching his papers and files. On Mahama's side was the Ghanaian delegation none of whom was holding even a shred of paper. They had probably gone there for the party and a visit to their malls...
But Lungu, your title takes me back to 1979 when Police's first big hit was topping the UK charts and we could hear it in Ghana on BBC's Top Twenteeee... Message in a Bottle. The song was written by Sting, the band's lead singer and bassist. Andy Sommers, the lead guitarist, provided those riffs that the song is built around. I didn't like the tune at first but repeated hearings made me develop a liking for it.
It is said Rolling Stone ranked it number 65 on its list of the "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time". wow. But it didn't do well in the USA.
Oh, 1979 also gave us Boom Town Rats' I Don't Like Mondays... Bob Geldof. But that's another story...
In the Sting song, the sender of the message did not receive a response in a whole year and he was despairing. Then the next day he sees a hundred billion bottles on the shore all containing messages. So he was not alone...
Let's hope that it doesn't take a year for the President to receive your SOS message in its bottle and that there will be 25 million other bottles (rep the pop of Ghana) carrying the same message. Then, perhaps, even he, too, cannot close his eyes on the message.

My brodda that "aspect of my background" as you put it is off the mark and a little presumptous to say the least!! Make of it what you may, suffice it to say for the record my ethnic heritage/affiliations are varied and complex!! The same is true for many if not all Ghanaians if you go back far enough!! In my particular case there are at least three traditional polities where I am counted as a "HOMEBOY" in traditional terms without regard to my other affiliations! For example within the GA polity I have a strong affiliation to ASERE specifically ATTUKPAI, however I favor my equally strong affiliations to OSU specifically to NIIWE in KINKAWE and ASHINTE-BLOHUN,respectively!!The reason being that OSU is a prime example of the complexities of ethnic amalgamation as can extrapolated from the names of the divisions of AKUTSEI mentioned above,we also have AMANTRA & ANOHOR within OSU!! Finally in another polity when I introduce myself the tradional response is to repeat my name ------- ------ and attach the appellation or ephitet GORGORDUTOR which I proudly bear and use as a pen name!! When it comes to the crux of the matter however I am 100% GHANATOR, GHANABAA or GHANABII, whatever your calabash of kokoo!!
