  A good report on Nima. Growing up, each time we had to play a team from Nima, we were frightened and often defeated before the game ever started. Such was the reputation of the people of Nima. Then when I joined Willowbroke Soccer Team, so did a number of guys from Nima. Playing with Abu Moro, and his brother Joe Tex (who played at the national level) and a host of others, we formed a fraternity that extended beyond the field. In later years, on occasion, we had international super stars like Polo who would help us out in practice or friendly games. Nima has produced many world class soccer stars. And the nerve centre of Accra Hearts of Oak is anchored in Nima. I always enjoy my visit to Nima. You see a lot of hard working people; you see a community that holds together; you witness a combustive and variegated mix of ethnicity; you see perseverance despite official negligence; you encounter loving people.

  One cannot help but sympathize with Nima and its people. What have the people of Nima done to improve their circumstances? Govt and politicians can do much, but community actions can make a difference in people's lives too.

Also the writer failed to include alhaji farl the grandson of malam futa who was voted in Parliament during the limann administration just to say the least..but overall it's a good article. ..

  Actually, Nima is older than Ghana and most of the West Africa Countries. The land belong to Osu stool and it was founded during the British decision to make the West Africa as one Country called Countries of West Africa, and the currency was introduced called, countries of Africa pound, and they established to form the army, and Teshie will be the headquarters so all west Africa's are invited to gold coast that's how the people of Nima settle at today Nima.
  
  They were invited. for the sake of their religion they decided to live closer, then comes the ww1, follows by independence movement, then ww11, Congo war, then Burma. Nima's are the brave blackmen when Ghana and Africa were looking for brave blackmen. Things falls apart when "NLC" overthrow Nkruma and drives our Fathers out work. So we decided to steal because we have families to take off and we're out of work.

  Rightly said originally it was osu stool but the ga chiefs had a deal with malam Amado Futa at the early part of the 20th century. And the name Nima is actually Arabic meaning faith or belief and not a ga word as in the Chief ...

And the name Nima is actually Arabic meaning faith or belief and not a ga word as in the Chiefs land or nii MA. ..lol..I earnestly believe you cannot talk about Nima without the mention of malam futa who was a fulani and the kado people...needless to say Nima contribution to the economy of accra cannot be overstated and be cos of this role it is only appropriate to match the welfare and infrastructure of Nima to any modern city of its caliber in the world....the son of malam futa alhaji basiru futa was actually coronated by the Odoi Kwao family from osu who still are stakeholders in the Nima land, as Onukpa Futa, my father may he rip..presently the position of Onukpa or Nii futa is yet to be filled by the successor of Onukpa futa..lol...
