This coward called Akufo.Addo would prefer going on a wild goose chase of a Togolese Voters roll to producing evidence to support his allegations to enable us recover whatever he is saying has been stolen by government.

Mr George Berko, this is a wonderfully thoughtful article. We all know the problem of corruption in Ghana. We all know the endemic problem of corruption in all governments in Ghana. Therefore, Nana Akufo-Addo's allegations of corruption against the Mahama-led NDC Government is not surprising at all.
Nana Akufo-Addo, the Opposition leader who is not reputationally corrupt, and as a former Attorney General of Ghana should not simply express his concern but take your suggested approach to tackling corruption in Ghana. I think this will be a very good anti-corruption drive which will boost his credentials and political campaign if he leads the charge.

Sir, that is exactly my point. If Martin Amidu could employ his knowledge of the Law and tap into his experience as a former Attorney-General to challenge the Government on Woyomegate and win for the country, how then could Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not do similarly in a case that he has led the charge against the Government?
Our Politicians have been pressing our emotional buttons to get us all riled up to vote for them, or against their rivals. But that is how far the Politicians go. When they get the Power they have enticed us to give to them, they forget about or deliberately ignore the ills they complained about their predecessor opponents to get them elected, and do nothing about the problem. Often, they even settle in to repeat the same evil crap they accused their predecessors of.
This is why I strongly believe the Electorate ought to lift the bar for eligibility higher to demand immediate actions from the potential occupiers of the Flagstaff House, even before the Elections come up.
If these Political Power-seekers are not willing to do what we all know they could even before the Elections to show their ability and sincerity in helping solve our problems, they should be discarded by the Electorate.
We are often so distracted by all the frills, the boom and shrill of jingoism, and even the tribal insinuations cunningly used to drive a wedge between groups and intended to maximize votes from a particular side, all cause us to take our eyes of the most crucial issues confronting the Nation.

If I have 'lost my sense' but could reason this much to point out the lack of practical action on the part of someone who has the resources and know-how to correct what he has been complaining about but has not done much to rectify it, then you sure could bet your bottom dollar on it that I am doing better than your sheepish stagnation in limbo that makes you not even know what to make out of my piece.
Look, for most of us ordinary Ghanaians, we could only observe the symptoms of the Corruption and thievery in Government and express our concern about the perceptions we develop from them.
But for the more powerful elites with the requisite legal know-how and resources, many avenues and opportunities abound for them to take on the challenge of tackling the vice among us.
At least, we have seen how a simple, ordinary PI with a Legal background in the person of Anas Aremeyaw Anas has shaken the corridors of Justice to expose the rotten among the Judiciary. If you claim to have your 'sense' intact, it should not baffle you to understand why someone like Akufo-Addo who wants to be the Nation's next President could do even more to curb that crime. He is one of the best suited to lead a suit against the Government to retrieve any monies that he believes the Government has illegally spent, or any of the Government's Officials might have stolen.
Every adult in Ghana has long heard about the corruption in Ghana's governing circles. But not everyone has the resources to prove it. And if you don't think Akufo-Addo, who has been an Attorney-General before and now claims the Government is corrupt could do more than just the lip-service he has been paying us, then you are either a pathological liar, or have lost more than just your 'sense', too.
It is not enough for us to be crying about corruption and the lack of direction in Ghana, and not taking the very practical steps needed to solve the problem.
You live in VA, USA, I presume. And I hope you would, at least, learn from the USA how democracy allows the Citizens to confront the Government in Court over issues of this nature.
Politicians have always used their rhetoric alone to sway voters in one way or another. But it is time we demanded of them actions to prove their ability to solve our problems. Else, they do not deserve our votes.
This has nothing to do with NPP or NDC or PPP or CPP. It has everything to do with empty promises, and the tendency of Political leaders to take turns in dipping their dirty hands in our cookie jar, without doing any of what they had promised us.
Recycling Politicians in the Flagstaff House per se is not what solves our problems. It is what the occupier could do for us that counts most. So, if you have your 'sense' intact, use it to think sensibly through issues.
Long Live Ghana!!!

This is a great opportunity for the NPP to unite in support of a patriotic cause, validate the Flag Bearer's legal acumen/expertise, silence his detractors, re-enforce the notion that age is just a number and that he certainly possesses awesome energy to fight the good fight, vindicate Anas Amereyaw Anas and prove that there is indeed areas/personalities in the justice system that function efficiently, support President Buhari's efforts in uprooting corruption in government thereby helping to change world perception about the incompetence of African leaders in managing our affairs, win an overwhelming majority of votes come 2016, and become a national hero in the history of our dear Nation. What a trump card George Berko has delivered in Nana Akufo-Addo's lap! It is all a matter of perception, so seize the moment, NPP!
Remember, when it boils down to the nitty-gritty, Ghanaians could care less which party is in power so-long as the country's economy, infrastructure, health and other aspects of its welfare are managed with integrity and goodwill to all citizens.
Bless Ghana!
