Hmm! I was expecting a challenge of the source of the claim that we blacks were cursed to be slaves - hewers of rocks and drawers of water - for other races, which was the bedrock of the enslavement and colonisation of Africans for centuries. The Talmudic interpretation of the mark put on the descendants of Cain as being black, and then the curse put by Noah on Ham. But, it is clear this debate is outside the realm of the writer and the ongoing discussion. I'll leave it as that, as I had visited the topic many times before. Even posted an article on it on Ghanaweb, modernghana, etc. Interested reader can search for it.

You say Mahama has stolen $900m but the only evidence you put forward in support of the allegation is a Forbes Magazine report which you re too obtuse to quote in full or in part. Do you expect a journalist of Mr Cameron Duodu's experience and expertise to engage in publishing allegations that are nor backed by facts? I am sure he will never do that, for he does not write out of hatred form people but just to try and correct societal errors.
When you have evidence, bring it and I am sure Mr Duodu will write about it. There is concrete evidence that Mobutu and Abacha stole heavily. Get us the same type of evidence about Mahama. If you can't do it, don't bring your nonsense to Mr Cameron Duodu.

As long as the blackman has completely bought into the whiteman's way of doing things and overwhelmingly accepted the 'superiority' of the whiteman he's doomed. As much as the writer - supposedly 'educated'- will attempt to make such juvenile analysis about whether or not the blackman is cursed goes a long way to show that we are doomed.
Take a country like Ghana, we are so polarized on politics to the point where we are super passionate about our NPP or NDC that we will defend nonsense because it's coming from 'our' party. We have been programmed by so many things that common sense and real patriotism has been shoved for party loyalty we are pathetic, there are no brave men or women in our societies anymore and we are ok with it.
Our party loyalty has predominantly been out of our innate selfishness, if one feels connected to NPP or NDC, they will die for the party to be in power believing that things will be better for him/her because it's their party in power, screw the rest of the people who are on the other team.
We don't care about building a sustainable system which will be neutral in its dispensation of development regardless of party affiliation. WE idolize and celebrate thieves, we don't have any values as a people. As long as I feel a certain connection to the thief it's ok.
BTW, Mr writer, you rather make a great point for why we are cursed, all the white people you cited only "they use business , instead of politics, to steal the money" (your own words)They have no mandate from the people to safe-guard their resources, and they are eventually brought to justice, on the contrary, the blackman elects thieves to be in charge of his resources; these thieves rob him blind whilst the same blackman defends the thief merely because he perceives the lazy, stupid, greedy thief as belonging to his party.
Mr Duodu, I have news for you not only is the blackman cursed, he's also very very STUPID.

Agya Asare,
All the instances you give of the blackman's stupidity jam with Mr Duodu's position. Yet you think what he is saying is juvenile. How do you contradict yourself like that?
Stupidity is a human trait that affects some people and not others. Just as some people are tall and others are short. The thieves used as an example in the article are Africans, but in their own countries -- Mobutu in the Congo, for instance -- Patrice Lumumba was not a thief and in fact was killed by the imperialists because he was clever enough to wish to stop them stealing his country's wealth. There are many instances of sensible Africans, but maybe you don't care to read about them. In Nigeria, a man called Dangkote has stopped his country importing cement from abroad, and he is expanding into other African countries. He could easily have used the money to buy houses in London, as the more stupid Nigerians do.
In the final analysis, then, stupidity is an attribute of AN INDIVIDUAL and cannot be taken as a "curse" that generally afflicts a whole RACE.
If you don't understand that, then you must be very stupid.

Well, well, well Emmanuel Kantaraka one of the main trait of stupidity is what's being demonstrated here, when one feels that they have exclusive insights on an issue and accuse others of contradiction whilst contradicting themselves.
YOU SAY "stupidity is an attribute of AN INDIVIDUAL and cannot be taken as a "curse" that generally afflicts a whole RACE"
Your narrow-mindedness doesn't allow you to appreciate that stupidity can be attributed to a GROUP it's not limited to an individual, likewise a 'curse' generally afflicts an individual.
The general foundation of your juvenile article is flawed anyway. Can you scientifically cite an example of a cursed race?? I believe it makes excellent sense to you. No! The blackman is not cursed?? Until you appreciate that 'stupidity' best describes our plight as a people than your subjective (and superstitious) 'curse' you will be in denial by citing the few successful ones (the Dangotes etc) as reasons why the blackman is not 'cursed'
My submission was that, if the blackman elects thieves to take care of his resources, and the thieves robs him blind while he defends and exalt the thieves, he's STUPID not CURSED. You on the other hand, insist that where they keep the stolen money makes the difference.
The mis-education of our supposed 'educators'. As long as you know the blackman is not cursed, I don't even know why we are having this discussion anyway or why you have the need to write on such immeasurable subject. If the blackman is endowed with all the natural resources and fertile land to grow his own food yet he's poor, hungry and panhandling, he's STUPID not cursed.

Money goes where it can buy things people want. A American thief won't take his money to Chile when he can have good weather in California or Florida -- just as to be found in Chile. But a Ghanaian thief will take his money somewhere where there is no Dumsor.
Secondly, money wants to stay where it can be safe. Until recently, Switzerland was very safe for unclean money. No questions asked. Numbered accounts so that no-one can spill the beans on you. And no soup détat to seize your money and give it to soldiers. Is this so difficult to understand?

Granted that the curse has a modicum of merit haven't many ancient nations and peoples who fell under the curse axe of God recovered and on the rebound, doing much better than the black race today? We are the butt of international jokes and every race of people everywhere believe they're better than us,regardless. Let others say what they may about us but it's the actual state of the black nations that says it all. We owe ourselves the moral responsibility to disavow this claim. To admit that we're cursed is to say say that we're not personally responsible for the coast to coast misrule, corruption and greed that are poised to outgrow our weeds, the encompassing filth and squalor, illiteracy, disease, hunger, etc, etc.
Bad people, the greedy and the selfish are equally distributed in all the world. It's what we choose to do lawfully with the bad nuts, deviants, the unscrupulous, the corrupt, the predators, etc that counts. Here's the difference. In most of the developed world when such people of questionable character are unmasked they are apprehended, prosecuted and jailed when proven guilty, regardless of their political clout or affiliation or how high they perch on the social ladder. What happens in the black world? We love such people. We adore, worship and idolize and elevate even murderers to a godhood status.
Some of our traditional beliefs and practices impact negatively on our growth and development but there are too many who dread the word change.
Why do politicians and leaders, elected, appointed and traditional steal from the poor, from the state and make everyone poor?
Contrary to whatever we think of ourselves we are also intellectually and physically lazy who love to reap from where we have never sowed.
It's time to stop blaming others for our self-inflicted wounds. It's time to call a spade a spade and face our demons squarely. It's time to unite and stop hating each other because of tribal or political affiliation. Curse or no curse we keep shooting ourselves in the foot so we need to put our own house in order. Lastly we must allow the law to take its course.

To answer the question 'Is the blackman cursed', you must go beyond pride and self-esteem and look at the tendencies of the black race from Haiti to the Caribbeans all the way to South Africa Soweto. This is the question that must be asked because until we ask such questions and try to answer them, the black race as you see it is doomed. I have always had problems with black apologists using convoluted arguments to support to black crimes and other nefarious activities.
History would tell us that during the slave trade era, we captured our own people in war and sold them for useless things like liquor, mirrors, gun power, etc. This character trait is still ingrained in the blackman when JA Kufuor sells Ghana's heirloom, Ashanti Goldfields Ltd. to Anglogold and go on to have a lavish party with the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Some backward brain dead Ghanaians may say he sold it because Ashanti Goldfields was in trouble in its hedging bids. In case these foolish Ghanaians do not know, Ashanti Goldfields was the biggest foreign exchange earner in the country, and it was the reason JJ Rawlings went to the IMF to borrow $114 million to bail it out when the company was in crises in 1983/4. Even Gen. Ankrah and his NLC knew better not to sell Ashanti Goldfields in 1968 when it was hit with the lowest gold prices. Gen Ankrah commissioned a committee to comb the world for investors and as a result saved the country.
Why is the blackman not cursed? Today take a look at Ghana's corporate boardroom landscape. It is full of foreigners - Indians, Lebanese, Syrians, Canadians, French, etc. Thanks to JJ Rawlings and his minions who sold all of Nkrumah's state-owned enterprises for absolutely peanuts to these foreigners in the 90s by the order of IMF. 350 of state-owned enterprises went on the auction block without any thought of providing jobs for our young university graduates. Today Rawlings is walking around in Ghana and being hailed as former President of Ghana.
My question to this black apologist is, why on earth does incompetent Mahama enter into a bailout negotiations with the IMF without the full knowledge and participation of Ghana's Parliament (the peoples representatives)? Is the blackman not cursed? Yes, indeed! The blackman is cursed many times over!!!
