Clearly, Dr. Bawumia (and Fadi Dabbousi) have every right to critique any public official in Ghana, or anywhere.

But, Dr. Bawumia (and Mr. Fadi Dabbousi) do not have liberty to change rotten conjectures and self-serving agendas into facts or truths.

Dr. Bawumia tried that with the so-called "Bloated Register", and it did not work, not even with the IEA.

The curious eye in our's....

We could not help but notice the reference to "..borrowing...since independence.."

READ: "...Borrowing – over 40 billion dollars in 7 years as against 8 billion over 51 years since independence..."

WE SAY: The maths does not add up, or, 1+1 is not equal to 2, sometimes, according to Fadi (and Dr. Bawumia).

Moreover, it is not entirely clear to us whether Fadi and Bawumia, even with this essay, actually appreciate differences.

We are talking about the difference between borrowing so your comrades and party hacks can steal from the People, and selling state resources without proper accounting. Versus, borrowing (and spending) to invest in infrastructure to benefit all the People.

Bawumia has condemned the latter kind, precisely the kind Dr. Kwame Nkrumah preferred, and accomplished for Ghana.

To the point, Bawumia and Fadi are still enjoying the investments by Nkrumah's CPP, even today, 58 years "after Independence."

Fadi's "51 years after independence" merely gets us to 1964, which is a bit unhinged, unless there is a secret code we must now decipher to make "2" work as "2" employing 1+1.

You are a typical armchair quarterback who sits on the armchair playing football and criticizing those who are on the field. Just because you heard or read somewhere raft our energy problems are not due to power generation but fuel don't make it true.

The fact remains dumso was ushered on Ghana by npp failures. Under Kuffuor the energy demand rate was 12%. Thus means that every year the demand increases by 12%. Kuffuor and npp did not add any energy generation to the total hence in 8 years they effectively created a supply problem to a tune of 72%. That is more than double. We have Aboagye down other white elephant projects like bui dam not producing any power. Kuffuor for whatever reason decided to build bui against our advice from VRA not to do di since the Burkina Faso had built a new dam that is tied to irradiation projects that will not let bui get any water.

You see JM had rather built four energy projects and added a barge that will use sea water to produce every as backup in case any of the gas thermal plants need repair.

I think you rather need to shut especially since you don't have the facts. The joke is on you. How many schools did npp build? Or universities? Or cement factories or gas plants? JM had built all these in less that a term. Can you boast of the few things I listed in Kuffuors 8 years?

His do you sustain NHIS when you don't have funds to pay public workers? Even USA that has majority of the citizens paying taxes could not implement NHIS so how on earth can Ghana a poor nation sustain it?

You fools think by talking nonsense you get to gain votes? The president said he will beat your npp candidate in the first round. You should rather worry about that for your refusal to see his projects don't matter

Our problem is lack of money to buy gas and fuel to power them and that is why the Karpower from Turkey will not solve the problem. You will still need fuel or gas to power it up.

And, you do not have to jump to defend someone whose only way of criticizing the President of the country is rain insults on him. Maybe, you recognize such a fella as a mirror of yourself and, hence, the need for you to prop him up.

We all know the failings of the Mahama Administration. We all criticize him and his Government on the absence of accountability and significant economic progress. But most Ghanaians who I believe are decent citizens would rather do so with some decorum. The damage personal insults to our Presidency sticks with the Office that could be occupied by one of your favorites in the future. So, stop the personal insults and focus on the issues at stake.

As usual, you may pick up where you left off with me the other time, calling me a closeted NDC member for my views like this. However, every sensible person would recognize how such insults as you love to unleash on others do not advance our debate for the Nation's salvation. And I would hope others who act like you would read this message and try to change for the better of our common cause. That applies to all others who on the other side of the aisle as well. Those NDC members who only respond to all issues with insults must see their tactics as irrelevant as well.

Was it not the squandering of the nation's purse that caused this harsh fiscal climate such that Gas could no longer be afforded, especially that the NDC govt owes Nigeria hundreds of millions. Meanwhile the surcharge on electricity and the over 500% increment in levies cannot be accounted for. Is it not a fact that in 20 years of Rawlings's shambolic Presidency the electricity problem was not rectified, compounding the ramifications of his selfish and narcissist rule. How iniquitous can a leader get as to have fools make a mockery of the curse that the Presidency has been turned into. A curse pretty much like you who has turned the high position into a factory of nonsense. Shame.
