  Bribery and corruption,cronyism and thievery have combined to produce a nation verging on economic collapse; and resulting in a huge income inequality in the country.In essence,Ghana is a "Nation of Two Cities".
  
  The political elites and their associates,parasitic chiefs, and fraudulent "prophets" - have turned this rich nation(natural and human resources)into a "pauper state".
  
  In this rotten space,one finds people like Hammond,Woyome,the Kufuor brothers,Rawlings and his wife,Mahama and his praise singer and the parasitic chiefs who pay no taxes.But European and North American political leaders and royals - from President Obama to Queen Elizabeth - ALL PAY TAXES. Their Congressmen and MPs also pay taxes on their salaries and income derivatives.They all pay for the upkeep of their homes,cars,etc - except for few political leaders and senior judges who receive benefits because of their very important roles in society.
  
  When Pres. Obama was a senator, he rented an EFFICIENCY in Washigton DC.Vice Pres.Biden also comutted daily from his own house in his home state of Delaware;while Condi Rice(as U.S Secretary of State),rented an apartment in the Watergate Building).All these prominent politicians in the most advanced and richest country paid for their own mortgages or rents,So why should Ghana,a rich but poor country allow the parasitic elites to live off its citizens by not paying taxes - while at the same time,we provide them with all the comforts in the world,as well as ex-gratia.
  
  Mahama is not pushing for changes in the Constitution,because he wants his share after his two terms end.(Kufuor got his friend,Ms.Hesse to recommend an ex gratia that the King of Saudi Arabia would be envious of).
  
  "Hybrid" Hammond typifies the corrupt politicians we have in Ghana.And the only way now to reduce corruption,is to defeat both NPP and NDC - and replace them with a government the places the people of this country first - as happened in France and America(Revolutions).Other than that, these leeches will have to be removed and tried "by other means".

  What prevents the NDC majority in parliament from passing the Freedom of Information Bill being held hostage by our so-called lawmakers into law or are you by any stretch of imagination and disingenuity suggesting that the minority parliamentarians fear for transparency and accountability is the reason behind the unprecedented spike in corruption under the stewardship of President Mahama's NDC Administration in particular ? I'd suggest you remove your tainted political lenses so Ghanaians living in every nook and cranny of the Nation, regardless of political affiliation, would benefit from the professor's superior academic knowledge. Under-informed Ghanaians have no much use for academicians who for whatever reasons choose to stray from the path of truth and objectivity to peddle misinformation. Don't take it personal because my disappointment with the learned elite cuts across the political spectrum.

  In the case of the oil contracts, the government in power does not want to improve upon what the previous government left them. (Some members see some advantages, we can imagine. Suggests there might be an informal union of lawyers, for instance, who want to write as many Effah-Dartey Oil contracts as they can get!
  
  That is democracy, according to the theory, pressure/interest group values.
  
  And you guessed it, the same actually applies to the FOI bill. It is essentially an NPP draft that the Mahama government has thus far been unwilling to take to the finish line. Bagbin promised voters 7 years ago they would enact the law, is sent to power.
