The president does not has only Bawumiahs phobia but also Npp phobia, this is the reason why they are penetrating illegally into the ranks of the party. Ndc should learn to fight a fair bout.

If the NDC were behind the wrangling in the NPP and yet the latter failed to deal with it, which of them should we call the party of intellectuals?

The president's reaction to Bawumia's comment pierced through him(Bawumia) more than any of his comments would ever do to the president. His greatest achievement up to date is graduating from school with his degrees. What high position has he ever occupied, let alone excelling in that position? Learning something from the books is an entirely different ball-game to applying it practically, and we have seen that time and again.

While I am not impressed with Mahama's performance, I agree with you in a way. The NPP places so much stock in Bawumia without justifying why. He has been running mate on 2 instances and in both he has not added to theNPP votes so all this jamboree about him puzzles me. in the run up to the 2000 election, the nPP kept stressing how it had a team - we have the men and this is what i think made the party more egalitarian, more democratic and thus more electable. In recent times the pendulum seems to have swung away from this approach to focus on just 2 people - Nana and Bawuia. Whether this reflects a fundamental shift in the UP tradition - i.e. it is becoming more like the CPP and NDC of old is an issue for discussion. However putting so much stock in the capabilities of one person is not the way to build an organization especially one with a tradition that has never had truck with hero worship.
