The question is how did this happen and why to a school that had produced eminent men and women in Ghana, including presidents? This is shocking to me but old students should take some of the blame for waiting for far too long to get this problem resolved.
By the way, why are all the petitioners male and are there no "Akorawa" (if there is such a word for the female old students) interested in this problem?

Why petition the president ?. I believe the school has enough learned lawyers to take on these encroachers. Proceed to court no matter how long it takes.
If you win demolish every encroachers property.

The blame for this lawlessness must be heaped on the shoulders of first the school authorities, the powerful old students and then the govt authorities.
This problem started in the 1990s when the school authorities started selling the land, ostensibly to raise funds to maintain and develop school. Some of us on Okyeame were aghast and questioned the authority of the school administration to to sell the public land without govt authorisation. Perhaps, some big shots in govt and old students were the beneficiaries of those sales. the rot simply continues. Which developer will have the audacity to go and order teachers to move from a school flat so that they can demolish it and build privately on the land??????? Lawlessness sanctioned by people in authority, that's what is happening in Ghana!
Instead of the so-called elite schools in Ghana producing exemplary graduands to lead the advancement of our country just like the Etons, Oxbridge, etc., of this world, they produce bands of immoral rascals, charlatans, severely corrupt "thieves and thiefettes" and intellectually bankrupt academics.
