I do not have any classroom education to talk about neither do I hold membership in either of the sorry excuses they call Ghana's two main political parties; I manage to get by with common sense. But I'm glad you brought up the issue of obscene expenditures around independence day celebrations for I have questioned why Ghana under the mighty Kufour administration under which your kinfolk Nana Akufo-Addo served could have spent an estimated amount of between US $50-US $100 million on Ghana @50 when people die of cholera at our universities.
  
  If you're now asking Ghana to look at Tanzania for guidance or political wisdom I say it's a little too late don't you think? You have seen no wrong with the NPP, no not if talking about their lousy record affects the chances of Nana Akufo-Addo your kinfolk and blood relative to become a goat head for Ghana. The ills that have made Ghana unworthy of its place in the world started when freed slaves with slave era chains on the mind had an epiphany on how the UK masters used to sit at the big mansion as the slaves in Ghsna worked to death and thought there's no need for hard work, all it took was to be free and thus the 1966 coup that made us empty headed freed slaves with shackles on the mind and body. In history, science, or any study and or comparative analysis what we have in Ghana cannot be progress or human development even of the tortoise kind. It took Nkrumah and his CPP less than 10 years to screw Ghana but it has taken us 40 years and counting for democratic yellers and empty heads to royally take our messed up thinking to new heights. In our wishful thinking, it has become an acceptable norm to steal but not to get caught, it is a moral right to steal or mismanage for as long as one has support within tribe and or political party and standing. It is democratic to beat the tribal and war drums in our new Ghana because we can claim to be democratic and under democracy we can be a freed people even if we've become a nation of idiots being led around by the nose by puppet masters. But then we have our own savior Dr. Bawumia waiting in the wings with all his ideas to do for Ghana what he could not do as a member of the NPP unless of course he is the vice president. I did not know the people of Tanzania are all vice presidents to have accomplished a feat even the mighty Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe has become a fan of.

  Yes, anyone who has been to Tanzania will attest to the fact that that country is far less developed than Ghana. It is a huge country several times the size of Ghana and needing far more resources to develop than Ghana. Traveling across the country is a journey to hell. The roads are bad.
  
  It is true Ghana could, and should, have been doing better than we have so far done but to compare what is happening in Tanzania with that in Ghana in order to score partisan political points in such brazen manner shows Okoampa is really not interested in the fortunes of mother Ghana but just in those of NPP and whatever tradition the party claims it comes from. Ghana's present predicament is the result of the policies of ALL the governments it has had since independence and to pretend otherwise is very unfortunate.
  
  And Okoampa has so much time to talk of unimportant things. Look at how much time he spent, in this short piece, on his friend who has come back from Ghana. He tells us that this friend lives in Washington, will want to remain unnamed, as if these facts were pertinent to the main thrust (if any) of his article. Rather, it makes us want to ask why it is not Okoampa himself (rather than someone else) who is coming back from Ghana and reporting on the things he (Okoampa) had seen there since he (Okoampa) spends a huge part of his day penning articles on Ghana for ghanaweb and other sites that are willing to post his articles.
  
  And this brings us to ask Okoampa: when was the last time you visited Ghana to see things with YOUR OWN EYES and form opinions that are based on YOUR OWN experiences in the country?
