Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I am a Ghanaian national whose parents, grand-parents, and great-great grand-parents were Ghanaians, going back to the Gold Coast, and as history teaches about Ghana and Africa.

I fully support the DFID-funded GOGIG program to build up oil management, transparency, and accountability protocols to promote better stewardship and investment of income Ghana derives from Ghana's non-renewable oil and gas resources at the Jubilee Oil Fields, and at other locations in Ghana.

Why should we be bothered about spilt milk, water under the bridge, compared to the downpour that's is being wasted, lost, now and in the future? Can we address this dire issue as a national, patriotic one, and not a partisan one?

The interesting thing that objective readers ought to know is that they call the predatory scheme "Ghana Hybrid System" because it is essentially a carry-over from the NPP.

It is essentially a concession agreement with re-arranged royalty provisions.

Technically, in government, "Hybrids" are developed and employed during Master Plan and Development planning, using entirely different plans with major differences in benefits and risks.

In production, Hybrids constitute the same basic idea.

In that sense, the so-called "Ghana Hybrid System" as a form of contract for Ghana's oil is a fraud - it is not truly a "Hybrid," or necessary.

That is why Ghana will still lose as much as $6 billion the next 5 years, if that racket is approved by Mr. Mahama (as Ghana did the last 5 years).

To be frank with the responsible Ministries, Parliament, Mr. Mahama, the bureaucrats, and everyone else, no group of Ghanaians are smarter than the world.

Bahrain threw out their Concession + Royalty agreements and adopted the PSA beginning in 2009.

Again, there are no group of Ghanaians smarter than the US GAO, or these selected 33 countries that have all adopted the PSA:

Tear up that so-called Hybrid System "Contract on Ghana" because it is anti Fair-Trade.

Because it is only 27% Growth, instead of 100% Growth, allowing Ghana just 27 million barrels of oil instead of 100 million barrels that Ghana would be entitled, through the PSA.

Grow up, Government of Ghana!

PSA have been in use since at least 1969 when the Saudi followed the Venezuelans and Iranians who pioneered the idea!! After 1973 OPEC members gradually ratcheted up the country share in specific instances to as much as 55-60 ...

You can't it say it out louder! It is clear and very audible but they are refusing, in fact, pretending not, to hear, for reasons best known to themselves. The so-called hybrid system is a complete sell-out of Ghanaians down the Pra, Volta Rivers all over again! We don't need to pour barrels of palm oil into any river for the Oracles to tell us that!

The figures speak for themselves but they pretend that they don't see that. The "corporate responsibility" slush funds of the FOCs have blinded them, of course! Hundreds of millions are being splashed about annually. As we know, we Ghanaians are not too greedy when it comes taking bribes. A few cedis and a goat or some guinea fowls thrown in are sufficient to get your armed robber of a relative or a murder released! And here comes 100s of millions of $$$$$s for "good" and not so good causes! We are doomed if we just sit down to be gang raped like gang this!

By now, the so-called elite of Ghana should have mobilised the mass to oppose what is going on but unfortunately, many are compromised are just pure selfish, hypocrites waiting fore their turn to chop small. After, the NPP started the rot, so they are silent, waiting for the chance to unfold their grand agenda once in power - to make a few Ghanaians billionaires to challenge the moneybags of Nigeria! To some of us, to follow the Nigerian path with petroleum is total madness!
