Our failure to love Ghana above love for tribe and political party is at the root of corruption in Ghana. The 1966 coup no matter what or how you look at it is a love of tribe and politics over country. Each military government has been about tribe and politics. Civilian governments of late are akin to fight for tribal supremacy than politics.
When we build structures, policies, practices on tribal and party preferences we promote corruption. Hiring only NPP or NDC cronies is corruption; they are paid from all of our money and not from party funds. When government contracts go to party favorites it's corruption. This is what we pretend to call multi-party democracy; this is what the 1966 coup was all about. We wanted crony capitalism with delusional democracy and we have it now. There are no misdeeds prior to 1966 that has not been committed since, some worse, that has not taken place since so where is the love for country in all of these?
