Your proposals should be welcomed by all who want real African independence, not the nominal one which forces many Africans to risk their lives to go to Western cities, hoping to get crumbs of our repatriated wealth. One reason Putin is popular in Russia is because he's a resources patriot. Let's open a petition, also, for Ghanaians to sign, apart from writing directly to Government.

Indeed, evolution towards PSA was the pattern for even those countries that started with the Concession system. But for a long time now, PSA has been the standard for practically all newly emerging oil producing countries. So there was enough knowledge available at the time Kuffuor and co. signed the agreement. It was their own ignorance and the sweeteners provided by the cheating FOCs, Kosmos and Tullow, that's, giving a percentage of teh shares to cronies, in this case, the E&OE Group, that tilted them to sign away Ghana's oil deposits. Even after oil was struck in large quantities, they continued to sign such agreements, with cronies put forward as "local partners", even though they didn't contribute a cent to the capital. Greed and the opportunity to enrich themselves beyond thei wildest dreams took over rational policy.
When the NDC took over and discovered the rot, they at first tried to revoke some of those contracts, something which could have led to really, really big judgement debts if not handled properly. They soon settled down to taking advantage of the situation and continued the murky way the NPP started, with hardly any transparency about agreements signed so far. The public is suddenly presented with sealed agreements, just as Nana Nketiah complained against not long ago. If you guys think Ameri is bad, just wait until you read about the terms of some agreements signed to get the gas which is supposed to be owned by Ghana free of charge for those gas plants being built! We with our ears on the ground are dismayed! We can't run to the public with everything we heard, as we'd be compromising our sources but we can't also continue to keep quiet in the midst of the rot!
Kojo T, it is not only enough to express support for this campaign, one must also take practical actions to bring it to fruition. It requires funds to print and publicise materials, to travel and hold seminars, brief people, pay press conferences and even "soli" to the journalists, etc. Above all, start your own pressure point by contacting your MP, those you know are connected who can bring some influence to bear on the gate-keepers mismanaging our oil boon.
START NOW! Become A HERO/HEROINE AND FIGHT FOR GHANA!

In any case, much of what I wrote hasn't been touched by Efo Solo: the non-transparent way oil blocks are being allocated. One chief was complaining bitterly about that not long ago. Unfortunately, our so-called academic elite are totally oblivious to what's happening in teh oil sector. And the NPP people would like to continue with same so they are also silent!

It is instructive that Kobby. New Edubiase talks about the serious failure to learn from past mistakes and mis-steps.
ITEM: If the original agreements were handed over to Ghana by "thieves", and do-gooders, including the so-called Commonwealth Secretariat - a UK contrived organizations, it ought to be now evident to Mahama, the politicians, and bureaucrats, and all sensible peoples that the way to go is to catch - throw out the NPP-infested Ghana Hybrid and adopt the PSA.
As you say, the PSA was later adopted by many countries that started out with the concession agreements.
But yes, people must also support in concrete terms because the effort "...requires funds to print and publicise materials, to travel and hold seminars, brief people, pay press conferences and even "soli" to the journalists...".
Contact information is available in practically every publication issued about the PSA going on 5 years. Or, readers should visit GhanaHero.com/FTOS_GH_Campaign.
It is all about "economic empowerment", and development, and Johnson Tunu says.
Thanks for all your effort.
Greetings, this first day of 2016!!!

Kobby, for your info, Petroleum was first discovered in Gold Coast/Ghana in 1896.
Kuffour, Akufo Addo and K T Hammond knew what they were doing. They collectively sold Ghana down the river.

"Better than 55%".
This is based on the record - what other countries are receiving based on the PSA contracts they have adopted. (In fact, in some cases, it is as high as 60%).
BUT, Ghana received just 17% the last 5 years!
That is a big shame!
That is "commonwealth predation", if you ask us.

Which aspect of Akuarang-Parry's comments were you referring to? That Okoampa's writing is sophisticated?
There is absolutely nothing sophisticated about Okoampa's writings. His writing is simple and ordinary. That is, Wlhis writings are so simplistic. What is Nyebro about my position?
