Certainly, handling the crisis in Burkina Faso required DIPLOMACY. You've got to understand the importance of the fact that Ghana and Burkina Faso share a common border and members of the regional body, ECOWAS.

You've got to understand the fact that at the height of the Burkina Faso crisis, President John Mahama was the then ECOWAS Chairman and the need for member states coming together to help calm tensions and de-escalate the situation rather than Ghana embarking on any unilateral action that could be wrong. So in any consideration, it would be stupid to expect President Mahama's outspoken criticism of Blaise Campaore regardless of the concern in that country. Even if Ghana wanted to see change in Burkina Faso, as a neighbouring country, Ghana had to preserve a level of 'support' for Blaise Campaore while ensuring democracy is restored, following the unrest in Burkina Faso. Any vocal backing could be risky. Surely, you expect President Mahama to get involved in discussions of the Burkina Faso crisis but NOT expected to inject himself/Ghana into the Burkina Crisis. President Mahama could only mediate but not meddle!

For now, it's the launch of diplomatic charm offensive to win the 'friendship' of the new Burkina Faso sworn leader, President Roc Marc Christian Kabore. It is the showcase of diplomatic skills and the right thing to do.

If president Mahama has supported former president Campoare to the end, what do we have to say about Kufour led NPP with the late Eyadema of Togo? After Kufour had branded former President Rawlings of being a notorious coup maker and a dictator who dine and wine with other coup makers. Togo, was the first international trip of Kufour. Eyadema was a co president of mother Ghana. And we knew kufour's reasons for that reckless and irresponsible romance with Eyadema, that did not even bear a single fruit. This lunatic, Ahoofe should not push us more to reveal things with facts and evidence as to how his npp sold this country indirectly to dictators. We want peace in this country, hence the restrain.
