  Absolutely not necessary Mr. Adofo. These insults, lawlessness and disrespect to authorities would not help any cause. Is just abuse of free speech under our democratic dispensation. What is so disturbing is the inaccuracies and misinformation associated with Adofo's writings. Some deserve corrections to spare the society of extreme agony.
  1. The position of Asantehene is recognized by the Chieftaincy Act and supported by the constitution of Ghana. The constition says in part that 'the institution of Chieftaincy together with its traditional councils before the coming into force of the 1992 constitution is hereby guaranteed'.
  2. The Chieftaincy Act made mention of Asantehene in defining the composition of chiefs in Ghana. Asantehene is not a paramount chief and also not below a paramount status according to the Act.
  3. There is nothing like Kumasihene and Celemonial head. Kumasi Traditional Council has four paramouncies namely: Bantama, Asafo, Akyempim and Adonten.
  4. Attempts to see Asantehene as Kumasihene and Celemonial head of Asanteman cannot stand. He is Asantehene. The Kumasi Traditional Council and Asanteman Council of which he heads are recognized and guaranteed by the constitution of Ghana.
  5. Kumawuhene is a gazzetted chief and a member of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs. How can he then be alleged chief?
  6. Chieftaincy institution is guarded by laws. Any dispute can be resolved through judicial processes and not through social media which Adofo want us to believe. He can contest the Kumawuhene in court over his status rather than referring him as alleged chief.

  Prior to being installed as the first Asantehene, what was the name of the Chieftaincy Stool Title occupied by Nana Osei Tutu? Or are you now claiming that Nana Osei Tutu was not a Chief, prior to becoming the Asantehene? When the British Colonial Government officially abolished the title of Asantehene what Chieftaincy Stool Title did Nana Agyemang Prempeh accept when

  I have repeated this fact of Ashanti History several times before and therefore, to prove this point once and for all please could anyone spare some brief time and log onto Wikileaks and type the words of list of the Asantehene, Kumasehene or Ashanti King . I did this several years ago when carrying out some research on Ashanti History and Culture. A list of all of the Asantehene's from 1701 to the current day is provided with the full names of the Kings, and the periods that they reigned. This list also clearly shows a list of Kings that reigned as the 'Kumasehene' prior to 1701, including the King Osei Tutu who was the occupant of the sacred Golden Stool.
  Everything I have stated above is based on facts of Ashanti History and not my own or wrong assumptions.

  By the way Adofo has admitted "acquired" 200 acres of Kumawuman Stool land and is court fighting it. To the questions as to how he "acquired" the land, how much he paid and to whom still not answered.

  I admire the knowledge that you and others who have expressed their opinions on your article have about Ashanti History. It is a subject close to my heart mainly because my Maternal Grand Father, the late Nana Kofi Karikari, was one of the many Grand Children of Asantehene Kofi Karikari (1867-1874).
  My own advice to you for what it is worth? Is to focus more on making comments about your comments and not to publicly insult our King.
  I am pleased that other people have made similar points about this to you when feeding back. I am sure if you listened to this advice you would receive more positive feedback.

  If you are truly a Northerner (which I doubt), and know about your history you will know that Muslims from your Region have had close links to Ashanti Kings. Even the current Asantehene has previously been criticized for his close links with Northerners. However, this close association with Muslims from the North have existed for Centuries.
  For example, the famous book called 'Mission from Cape Coast to Kumase' published in 1807, makes reference to makes reference to the many Islamic Charms observed in the Royal Palace of Asantehene Osei Bonsu that were used for the purpose of warding off evil spirits. This book also makes reference to the many Northern Muslims that acted as advisors to Asantehene Osei Bonsu. Please note that this publication provides the most detailed analysis of life in the Ashanti Kingdom & the Royal Palace during the height of the Empire.
  If you knew about the histories of the Northern & Ashanti people you would know that at least one of the Asantehene's was de-stooled because he was rumoured to have converted to become a Muslim. You would also know that the use of Islamic Charms & Northern Muslim Advisers is closely associated with the reigns of Asantehene Osei Bonsu and Asantehene Kofi Karikari. The late Professor Adu Boahen has provided publications on this topic.
  If you knew anything about Northern and Ashanti History you would know that Asantehene Opoku Ware after successfully fighting Wars and conquering enemies he established active Slave Markets in what is now the Northern Region.
  The brave and patriotic Warriors of the Asante National Army have ensured that we are known throughout the globe. Something that you are not.

I think Otumfoc should avoid imposing his favourites on areas he claims jurisdiction.He recently appointed n installed a chief in one of the Bono Ahafo towns in wenchi even though the people themselves had already appointed and installed theirs! Let the people decide for themselves and guide them,if only your guidance would be necessary at all.Afterall ,there are nomore inter tribal wars which demanded for joint coalition of armies to defend one's kingdom! What would be the essence of the constitution then? Let democracy be the order of the day!
