My question is: what good is it to have a Parliament when the 1992 Constitution vests absolute power in the Presidency (the Executive). Ghana's Parliament thus has become a mere rubber stamp to Executive profligacy, and who cares about attendance?
What Ghanaians need is a total overhaul of the Rawlings' 1992 Constitution that vests absolute power in the Executive without the proverbial checks and balances. If we need our Parliament to work effectively then we must adopt the Westminister-style democracy where absolute power resides in our elected representatives (Parliament).
