I know Dr Anaba very well when he was at the Ridge Hospital. He is an excellent Doctor. many travel up north to see him for treatment.

It is vastly perceived in Ghanain that, America or Western Europe is far superior than Cuba in terms of technology and therefore, the haters on this forum are most probably judging Anaba's experience as a second rate to that of western-trained doctors.

I believe there were western trained professionals amongst all the candidates who applied for the position but he came on top because of his verifiable track record.

Please stop hating. What Jah bless, no man curse. If all the accolades against his highlights are true, then he seems legit for the position. Leave him alone - haters cum PHDs.

A full time job at the medical school alone if it should be done well is likely to stretch him to the maximum, let alone to add private practice, assemblyman-ship and other social activities. Conflict of interest cannot be ruled. I cant image the level of commitment he will have to his private business as against his full time government of Ghana job.

Political gain and not health-care transformation is at the top of the Ghana's liberal agenda. Irrespective of our perspectives, we all have the responsibilities to understand and to help address the modernization of our fragmented and failing system as a result of political influence. I have been working in the United States of America healthcare system for over a decade and in a fast growing hospital where we are one of the first in the world to have started using robotic surging. I have known Dr. Ababa for years now and he continues to function in a multifaceted capacity, spearheading key aspects of a medical practice's operations. He is knowledgeable on implementing policies and procedures, managing expectations of a medical staff, overseeing patients care and acting as a liaison between medical personnel and facility administrators, among others. Dr. Anaba applied for the MD position advertised. He was among the short listed and went for an interview, coming out with a flying colors. This was not a political appointment. Medical Director's role should match advanced clinical knowledge with management bf administrative responsibility. Dr. Anaba' s number one goal is patient care. He is an excellent communicator, exceptional organizational skills, he is present, visible and responsive. He is the kind of Doctor who wants to be involved, wants to be seen, and does everything in his power to be available to those requiring consultation. Ghana needs someone accessible and responsive. Dr. Anaba is undoubtedly dependable, trustworthy and caring. We can have a better healthcare system for our children and the nation as a whole but it will depend on the choices and decisions we make as concern citizens.
