Cheer up brothers. I have just returned from Fajr to read your piece. Your worries are direct opposite to what is happening in Europe. Whilst in the UK alone there are more than 2,500 Mosques, most churches are being patronised by rodents and birds. Some completely closed.

Property developers are converting some to residential homes. Muslims are turning some to Masjids and also some pups. During the last Ramadan a Synagogue in East London was purchased and turned to Masjid. Just make enquire about what I saying.

You will be happy to know that they are not just praying places but absolute institutions with ambulances, restaurants, mortuaries, education of all levels etc.

Trust me facilities here are making most people better Muslims.

I live in London and I am giving on the spot account of Islam in UK. Even in far away Tromso in Norway there is Mosque. Some of the Masjids in Europe are better structured and managed than Middle East.

Our ancestors, Muslems or Christians who created enviable and copiable institutions actually lived the very tenet of their religions; "DO UNTO OTHERS AS THOU WOULD HAVE DONE UNTO YOU". Our educated few do neither create anything nor harness resources for the betterment of our wretched masses, but populate our body politic for easy loot. Just count the Alhaji's in our politics versus the industrialists; or those embroiled in one scandal or the other.

Islam indeed had a splendid past until 1200 AD when the Mullahs deemed just about everything Haram, forbidden. The great Islamic war leader Saladin was wise, tolerant like most Islamic leaders. Christian churches were in Islamic countries side by side with Mosques. Islamic philosophers and mathematicians were revered and worked with their Christian counterparts. Since the 13th century, Islam has produced nothing but intolerance and brutality. Islam has become the religion of satan. Nothing good comes out of evil. The sad thing is that Muslims like the writers are such hypocrites, they proclaim Islam to be a religion of peace when it is clearly not the case. Christianity went through a similar phase but it ended. With Islam it has been going on for too long and getting worse. Many Muslims quietly support jihadism and death to non believers of this religion of hate and death.

2. There is one thing that should be clear to you by now and that is - civilizations rise and fall. The Greeks had their own civilization which fell and they've never recovered since then. Same as the Ancient Egyptians. The Muslims had their share too. Their civilization wasn't going to last forever.

3. In the case of the Muslims and just like the Greeks, the lost of Islamic civilization was largely due external Attacks. The beautiful Islamic civilization that arose from Bagdad was constantly threatened the Crusades from the west. The Mongolian Invasion in the 13th century was the last straw that broke the camels back. Cities were destroyed and set ablaze. The citizens were massacred whether military or civilian. The books and the libraries of the great Bagdad civilization were burnt and destroyed. In the west, Muslim Spain was also attacked and destroyed by the Spanish Inquisition.

4. Aside these, the Muslim world Still had the Ottoman empire which existed post 11 century and existed till the 19th century. The ottomans were very tolerant of people of other faith. And that is why I'm surprised at how you described the Muslims /Islam as very Intolerant and satanic post 13th century.

It a nut shell, your claims about the great civilization of the Muslims in the earlier centuries were True. but your point about Muslims being intolerant and satanic post 13th century is just absurd. If you are referring to events that had transpired post the 20th century, you need to understand that the brutal colonization of the Muslim world by western forces particularly Britain and France is what triggered the formation of some of these groups.

However, for you to describe the mosques as "Dungeons" is a bad word to use totally uncalled for... I suggest you retreat that description, look for a better word that befits the mosques and the mosque you always perform your salat inn or you stop praying in any of the dungeon because dungeon as it is, is not a place one can perform salat freely.one cannot stand or stretch himself upright in erect standing but u have to remain in either "ruku or sudjud (postration) form. No space for one to freely stretch or feel the comfort and concentation that comes with salat prayer and light which has been described in one of the hadith to be present at the praying ground.Nothing of that sort,its a total deprivation and an insult to man to find your self in a dungeon.Not to mention but a few...

Even your very own house can become a dungeon if it's not kept clean and at the same time you decide to pray in that same house. The word dungeon may not be okay with you but don't get offended my brother. In fact it's only in Islam people believe to fight for Prophet Muhammad in Christianity, we do believe if God or Jesus Christ whom you believe is only one of the prophets is been insulted Christians have no problem because we do believe vengeance is God's. Learn to leave things with God alone because He cannot be mocked. If someone mocked prophet Muhammad, leave it to God to judge. Islam I believe is supposed to be one of the finest religion but because of luck of knowledge and revelation most of the followers perish and are misunderstood.
