First of all you cannot hide behind the moniker, Prof Lungu, to blindfold people to consent to what they don't understand of have little knowledge of, and more especially as they don't know the real you. Your personally blog - ghanahero.com - as poorly as it is designed and organized - does not offer enough education or any comprehensive detail as to how the PSA system worked better for the so called "peers"of Ghana. Again your blog has failed to educate curious readers the Operating Cost Calculus , as well as the Cost Benefit Analysis which was considered thereof to help our "peers" have the fair-share advantage they are enjoying now. We need more detailed comparative analysis; we need do understand the standard cost of deep water drilling vs onshore drilling; risk assessment factors ......., in both system, thus the Hybrid and the PSA, and it will be after then that some of us could support the shoddy work you are doing now.

There has been a plethora of articles and a book by Solomon Kwawukume explaining the differences b/n the Concession or Royalty System and the PSA, from which two the Ghana govt, under the PRESSURE by the World Bank, Oxfam America, etc., is now trying to derive and launch this new-fangled system called the Ghana Hybrid System. Figures have been produced to show that it is not much better than the old royalty system.
We have heard enough of the excuse of not understanding the PSA and its advantages used by top officials and advisers to govt for their ineptitude and following blindly what we are being spoon-fed from abroad! Enough!
Just google the name "Solomon Kwawukume" and you'd be amazed how far and wide his articles have been replicated on web sites around the world.
We're being laughed at in lecture rooms and forums abroad. Below is a private correspondence and nothing can be more succinct than this to drive home that it is only most Ghanaians who don't know that they are being raped and robbed!

Thanks, Andy.
I was at a meeting in Pretoria on "ethical investing" and the first example the main speaker gave about African governments getting a raw deal from these oil companies was Ghana! My colleague promptly reminded him that I was from Ghana.
You should have seen me squirming in my chair. I think the president needs to help to rescue us from this one. It's bad!
Later, I met a South African geologist who said she feels sorry for Ghana. Why? Because all that gold we mine is sent to SA for processing. There they have a serious national policy on value addition in the mining sector. They call it beneficiation.
Throw in Vodafone, which lost us some $1 billion, and it's clear we need to beef up our capacity for negotiating these international deals.
---------------------------------
Unfortunately, this person cannot speak out openly, the person he/she is occupying being a problem. At least, I can use his views publicly to fight this cause without his objection.

We know that the so-called Ghana Hybrid System is not Fair Trade!
It is not Equity!
It is not Inclusive when one party takes the lion's share!
Above all, it is not development for Ghana!
It is plunder!
It is predatory!
GOGIG "Revenue Management" is a shiny Trojan Horse by which the plunder is being carried out!

Let me say once more that my father was never a Customs staff and never worked in Tema harbour proper. He died as an Acct-Gen Staff, where he was deployed.
When he "joined" public service in 1960, he went there on contract with his British partner to set up the accounting dept of the Workers Brigade and practically remained on contract throughout his service, perhaps the only Ghanaian not fully absorbed, as that would have meant a big cut in his remunerations, a big source of jealousy and law suits which he won all but was never paid all his entitlements before he died. His partner was made the Financial Comptroller and he the Deputy. When they went there, he packed and sold later the jeep he used when at Damongo liquidating the Settlement Scheme for the ex-servicemen on contract for the departing British colonial admin. He bought a benz car, one of a handful Ghanaians to own a Benz in 1960. When the British partner decided to leave Ghana, according to our mother, he unsuccessfully and luckily for us, tried to unload his Rolls Royce on Papa cos Papa said it was an ugly-looking car. I perfectly agree with him. And you dirty bastard is here insulting the memory of such a person? When he was made the first African Administrative Manager at John Holt Bartholomew when S. Africa was just getting Apartheid, there were over 20 whites under his command, not to mention the scores of Africans! YES, from a UAC store-front in Akwatia in the 1930s, he made it to the top!
Papa was once again Acting Financial Comptroller when the coup occurred but the NLC didn't find an iota to use against him after investigations into the operations of the Workers Brigade. Yes, Papa's father indeed didn't born him a thief, as he used to say, when others were sharing the booty. Lindsay was the name of the man who the Ministers used to send to the house. I won't sit down and allow inconsequential scumbags and scions of illiterate peasants to continue insulting us who sacrificed so much to build the Gold Coast into a prosperous model colony and a stable Ghana under Nkrumah. I know things to shake Ghana. I've been biding my time for years. One of these days, mentally warped bastards like you and your ilk shall see the consequences of your crude behaviour!
I urge all who love Ghana to go sign that petition and ignore the diversionary insults from these scumbags.

Keep hope alive because many of those overseas will one day, "hopefully", return and not need a pesewa from the Ghanaian economy to survive, and to build whatever projects they want.
As you indicate some are doing it already!
Pleas do spend the 30-odd seconds it take to sign, and join the petition.
Please uncheck the box at bottom, for privacy, if desired.
In keeping with classic marketing and participatory democratic principle, our estimates are, every signature represents 12 Ghanaians/Ghana supporters who are unable to sign/join for any number of reasons.
