3) I think security might have provided strong proof of complicity in bomb throwing. It could be that Nkrumah was deceived into thinking Danquah was dangerous by the enemies of Danquah.
Everything said, it is just unfortunate and it should not have happened at all.

THE DECLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS OF CIA EXPOSED HIM AS CIA AGENT WHO WAS ON THEIR PAYROLL. HE (AND BUSIA) FLEW TO LONDON TO DEMAND THE ANNULMENT OF THE INDEPENDENCE OF GHANA. WHEN HE FAILED, HE HATCHED ANOTHER PLAN AIMED AT ASSASSINATING NKRUMAH.

IN OCTOBER 1958, HE MASTERMINDED AN ABORTIVE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON NKRUMAH AT THE CASTLE; HE WAS CAUGHT RED HANDED WITH A PREPARED SPEECH. HE WAS ACCORDINGLY DETAINED AT NSAWAM IN TERMS OF THE SUBVERSION LAW JUST AS TERRORISTS ARE DETAINED IN GUANTANAMO BAY BY USA.

Just a point of correction. The pregnant Sister of Mr Krobo Edusei was shot dead by a known supporter of the NLM in Ampabame Village (Kwabre District of Ashanti Region), she was not blown up.

It has always been portrayed in the corridors of Politics that JB Danquah and Nkrumah were the worst enemies; and indeed, lines are often so sharply drawn between the parties they are associated with. This letter clearly shows something else. It shows JB as a respectful friend and colleague of Nkrumah- two great men with common friends.
It is unfortunate JB was treated that way all because of politics. When the White man arrested them, he was treated humanely. But when his own Black, Ghanaian colleague and former party-member arrested him he was treated as a slave. So sad! The letter has really 'got me'. One can only imagine how much Ghana and the world lost in the areas of intellectual and cultural scholarships because of this unnecessary imprisonment.Looking at the tone and the pleas of JB, I don't believe how Nkrumah could have read that letter without having compassion for JB. I suspect maybe the letter didn't get to him at all.
In any case I thank the person who uploaded this letter. There are a lot of lessons for politicians today. Treat others humanely!
