  A goat could face up to seven years in prison after being arrested for nibbling on a judge's plants.
  Police sprang into action on Monday, registering a case against the nanny and its owner for raiding the district magistrate's petunias and cabbages.
  They were released on bail after spending a night in the cells, but face charges of causing mischief and criminal trespass, offences that carry a two to seven-year prison term and a fine.

  Officer Ram Sewak Paikra from Janakpur town in Korea district, Chhattisgarh state said the female goat was allegedly a 'repeat offender'.
  He added: 'The goat and the owner were under police custody and are out, as both the sections 427 and 447 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) are bailable offences.'
  Local media were running video footage of the offending – and now tethered – black goat.
  Rajesh Paikra, the official's gardener, herded the captured goat to the local police station on Monday, demanding action.

  These are my reasons for my candid opinion:
  1. The Fulani herdsmen are nomadic. They have transmigrant culture, ever since Caliphate of Uthman Dan Fodio in 1820's, Fulani pastoralists have been trekking from northern Cameroon & northern Nigeria in the east to the Senegambian area in the west, essentially in the Sahel looking for fodder & water for their cattle.
  
  2. Ur statement that "Fulanis have been rearing cattle in Ghana since time out of-mind" is practically meaningless.
  
  3. The Fulani herdsmen have been moving to the forest zones of Ghana - Kintampo, Afram Plains, Agogo, & Krobo because of the increasing drought caused by climate change. They will continue invading the forest belt of Ghana because of the growing water insecurity of the sahelian scrubland.
  
  4. We need sane, humane & ecological way - involving our government, ECOWAS, and the Fulani pastoralists themselves - to resolve this so-called menace.
  
  5. The Fulani nomadic herdsmen should be distinguished from the sedentary Fulanis like Alhaji Gruzah who are Ghanaians.
