Its a wonderful piece, but the transformation of man from mass sex between males and females, especially when the woman was on heat was replaced by the family, where even the weak in society have a wife and family. I always ask myself why it is a case that a marriage that last long usually produce good and prosperous children. Those which are meant to enjoy everyone they come across does not usually produce the best.
Let me ask for how long has Queen Elizabeth been the head of state of Great Britain and her other colonies. For instance the grandson of Robert Mugabe does not inherit anything from birth, but a new born in the British royal family is given 5 million pounds at birth. It looks like we are saying that we a less humans than the Windsors.

We think the answers to the following questions will help unravel the mystery behind such a complex figure like the Pan Africanist Robert Mugabe
1. Is Zimbabwe practising democracy or dictatorial-cracy?
2. Is Robert Mugabe being voted for by the Zimbabweans or its self imposition on them?
3. What is the difference in longetivity of rule between the queen of England, king of Saudi Arabia and the president of Zimbabwe?
4. Are the above named rulers alongside Robert Mugabe have their respective countries practicing "democracy"?
Its time this mentality of "he has been a ruler for long" stops.
In any case, what has happened to countries that pride herself as democrats and having leaders chosen within every four years?
The answer to the latter question is pure thieving and under development.
Its time we stand up with such patriotic leaders who are standing against foreign nonsense.

Kindly note that the military junta in South Korea was a creation of the U.S. Ivory Coast had a president for life for over 30 years. I think all these Nkrumahists should be happy that Nkrumah was overthrown. Otherwise he would have died with his name, as it happened to Huphert Boiyne of Ivory Coast, Hastings Banda of Malawi and will certainly happen to Robert Mugabe. Nkrumah was leading the country on a very dangerous path and he could have ended up the same way that other African dictators did. So you should be happy that his rule ended the way it did and the rest is left to speculation so that indeed his name never dies.

Busia focused on housing and rural development his 3-year shot term. He achieved a lot on that score. Rawlings built Aboadze, and Kuffour built Bui, Mill did nothing, hence the term Professor 'Do Little'. This reminds me of the Doolittle algorithm for solving problems in Math and Computer and Solutions to Scientific Problems. Well, this is just by the way. Even INCOMPETENT Mahama is building hospitals and schools, at cut throat price though.
So what is the tooting and shouting of Nkrumah's name, as if all school children were not walking barefooted to school in his near 10-year rule.
What is probably notable is that, Kwame Nkrumah had money, right from the word go, to initiate projects. Cocoa industry was booming. We had good returns from Coffee and cotton plantations. He was cashing in big time on diamond, aluminium and bauxite mining.
What else did he need.
Yet, with all these abundant and flourishing resources, Kwame Nkrumah managed to bankrupt the nation before his much needed kick in the butt.
Mills and Mahama had lots of money from our oil wealth.

However, Busia met a bankruptcy nation; Rawling had every chance in his 19-year rule, of terror, to turn the economy around. Yet he sufficiently failed the people by handing over a HIPC nation to Kuffour.
And by his wisdom and vision, Kofi Diawuo - as Kuffour is known to his peers - did not kill Ghana, as the name Diablo seem to suggest. He worked hard to bring much soothing social interventions into the system which brought some relief to the poor and the oppressly depressed masses. CHOP MONEY FOR SCHOOL FEEDING, FREE MATERNAL CARE, NHIS, YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH GYEEDA AND SADA, among many other huge promotions which intervensionly alleviated the sweat of many. What is even more salient is the yeoman's job of Kuffour's administration to find oil for Ghana upon which revenue these Incompetent buffoons in government are looting and sharing with impugnity.
For real, Ghana could have been a sort of paradise on earth under Kuffour if was our first president. He deserved the 'Kuffour Chain'.

Did we have a market for the products produced?
Were they breaking even and was there economy of scale because the more you produce, the cheaper the unit cost. Was it the case? Just want to know since I wasn't around.
Akosombo did well because it was easier to export the reserve margin to help pay off the debts or cost of building the dam and cost of generation. But was it the case with the other industries/factories? If NO, then they were not sustainable. So do we blame those who came after him for not being able to borrow to keep the factories running?

Akosombo had a capacity of about 800 Kilowatts, and today Ghana has a total capacity close to 3000KW and you think Ghana has not moved forward since evil dictator Kwame Nkrumah?

Dear Paa Joe, it is very sad to see all the good factories that were setup by President Nkrumah, which was providing employment for a lot of Ghanaians go down the drain. President Nkrumah was indeed a visionary. However President Nkrumah helped us fight for freedom from slavery (the worst form of human abuse) which embodies 'dictatorsship' in its highest order. A few years later during his tenure President Nkrumah declares Ghana one-party state plunging us back in the 'dictatorship darkness' from where we had emerged, talk less of detentions without trial etc. Yes he deserves praise for the good things he has done and condemnation for his wrongs.

When they broke the myth ......and ....created a conundrum: The Ghana Coup of 24 February 1966

1. Today, 24th February 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the CIA backed coup that overthrew the CPP government of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah.
2. The coup was one of many that swept through newly independent African countries at the time coming so soon after the earlier one in neighbouring Nigeria five weeks previously. But Ghana was the ‘Black Star’ state, the first Black African country to gain independence.
3. In striking so decisively and toppling the swashbuckling president of Ghana, the west had been able to expose the sham that African independence was and entrenched the mentality in the west that Africa must NEVER be allowed to master it's own destiny!
4. Nkrumah's cardinal sin was to object to Western manipulation in Congo. The independence of Congo from Belgium had ushered in the left leaning Patrice Lumumba who was not a friend of the West. With other African leaders too timid for decisive action, it was Kwame Nkrumah who stuck out his neck for Lumumba. He paid a supreme price and alas Ghana is still paying!
5. The coup makers of whom Akwasi Amankwah AFRIFA and Emmanuel Kwesi KOTOKA both of the Ghana Army and JWK HARLLEY, Inspector General of Police, were the key ringleaders, claimed to have "broken the myth" of Nkrumah's invincibility.
6. But it is also true that Nkrumah and his Convention People’s Party arrogated exclusive power to themselves with opposition politicians like JB Danquah cast into jail under the Preventive Detention Act.
7. I remember my father cursing bitterly when JB Danquah died in prison.
8. In the event Nkrumah made a rod for his own back and the plummeting cocoa price on the world markets helped to add fuel to a feverishly incendiary political situation
9. Declassified US Government papers reveal that as early as 11 March 1965, in Washington, D.C., US ambassador to Ghana William P. Mahoney met with CIA Director John A. McCone and the deputy chief of the CIA’s Africa division [name unknown] to discuss a “Coup d’etat Plot” in Ghana
10. In the event the coup started at 04;00 hours on 24 February whilst Nkrumah was away on a ‘peace mission’ in Hanoi and by 06;00 there was a broadcast on Ghana Radion in which the coup makers celebrated the success of the coup which they said broke the myth of invincibility of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. But in the process the created a conundrum which persists till today
11. Commenting on the coup on 12 March 1966, Robert W. Komer, a special assistant to the president, says in a memo to President Johnson that the overthrow of the Nkrumah government was “another example of a fortuitous windfall.” He gloats over the win noting that “Nkrumah was doing more to undermine our interests than any other black African” and that the “new military regime is almost pathetically pro-Western.”
12. On this important anniversary of the coup, I challenge us to think what much if any has changed in the last fifty years. At every stage the African is still used, misused, abused and then given the occasional crumb to ensure his subservient survival only to be deployed as hewer of wood and fetcher for the grand interest of others. Whatever Nkrumah’s faults and these were legion, the coup solved nothing and set Ghana back many years!
13. I salute all progressive compatriots throughout the world and in the words of the Ghana National Anthem, I pray that "God bless our homeland, Ghana"

"5. Discussed the Ghana situation...despite denials there was no question in our minds that Nkrumah and others in his government were behind the anti-American agitation in Ghana. Advised the Secretary that I felt the substantial aid programs, including the Volta Dam and the Aluminum Project should be reviewed in view of Nkrumah’s attitude and that I thought that he might have a sensitive situation on the Hill unless this was done. The Secretary asked whether General Ankrah might not take over. I...thought that if it was desired to develop something, we might work with the British on a joint program...I suggested this be discussed with Home(British)...".
(Ankrah was still in the Army).

In that sense, Ankrah, who was fired by Nkrumah in of 1965, was a traitor of the first order - the real ring leader, of NLC (Nonentities, Liars, and Crook).

2. The fallen cocoa producer price was a conspiracy against Nkrumah, and by extension, Ghana. (See our 2 part essays on Ghanaweb this week).

3. Johnson communicated safe travel to Hanoi for Nkrumah because they knew the coup could only take place while Nkrumah was outside Ghana. (1,000s of US troops died in Vietnam after March, 1964, and even more Vietnamese, because Johnson made a mockery of the Nkrumah peace initiatives, and helped destroyed Ghana as a result.

4. The US officials detested the success of Akosombo/VRA, and were not inclined to allow Nkrumah to benefit politically from his success with the project. (Congo does not appear to be as much a factor, according to the Johnson records).

WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THE PATRIOT ACT IN USA.BEING A LEGAL PRACTITIONER,IS IT NOT SIMPLY THE SAME LIKE THE PREVENTIVE DETECTION ACT THAT WAS IN FORCE IN GHANA.

DIDN'T GEORGE BUSH USEE IT IN 2002, TO ARREST AND DETAIN AMERICANS ON SUSPICION OF ACTS AGAINST THE STATE WITHOUT BAIL OR ACCCESS TO DEFENCE LAWYER.

IT IS TIME WE LEAVE THE DEAD TO BURY THEIR OWN DEAD, AND TO KNOW,WHY WE HAVE STILL DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITIES TO BUILD OUR NATION.

As with the familiar narrative of Nkrumah’s critics, the argument soon gravitates toward detention without trial. The Preventive Detention Act (PDA) was passed into law in 1958 after years (starting in 1955) of what we will today describe as acts of terrorism. In this regard the PDA is not dissimilar to the wave of anti-terrorist legislation that has been passed in many countries in the world since September 11, 2001.

Between 1954 and 1957, violence, murders and bombings, orchestrated largely by the National Liberation Movement (NLM), attended much of the political life in the Gold Coast. However, as we explain later in this article, the proximate incident that triggered the introduction of preventive detention, first proposed by the late Krobo Edusei (after seeing a copy of the Indian Act on preventive detention), whose own sister had been killed in an act of NLM terrorism and whose wife had been the victim of an N.L.M bomb blast, was the planned assassination of the Prime Minister by Modesto Apaloo, R.R. Amponsah and an army Commandant, Captain Awhaitey. Apart from Apaloo and Amponsah. The latter two, both members of parliament, were arrested in November 1958 for their plot to kidnap and assassinate the Prime Minister and other key cabinet ministers. Note: apart from some minor political figures in Accra, none of the leading members of the opposition was detained under the Act from over three years following its enactment in 1958, until 1961 following the workers strike.

Dear Mr Kofi Otabil, it is very sad to see all the good factories that were setup by President Nkrumah, which was providing employment for a lot of Ghanaians go down the drain. President Nkrumah was indeed a visionary. However President Nkrumah helped us fight for freedom from slavery (the worst form of human abuse) which embodies 'dictatorsship' in its highest order. A few years later during his tenure President Nkrumah declares Ghana one-party state plunging us back in the 'dictatorship darkness' from where we had emerged, talk less of detentions without trial etc. Yes he deserves praise for the good things he has done and condemnation for his wrongs.
