Who would have thought Agyemfra Boateng, a King's name in our Akan tribe, especially the Asantes is a brother from the Upper West region?

Adoption of foreign names of course.
Let us take pride in our own local names.

Do you even understand the phrase; "what is in a name"? It means name does not matter but on this site, if somebody with a name Agyemfra Boating has been reported to have committed a crime, you would have seen more than fifty comments insulting Asantes. You are a damn liar unless you did not read the article. He said he is from the Upper West. I can see an Akan calling himself a Northerner and vice-versa but will not be specific of telling you where he is from since he is not an indigene.

I don't think the problem is the northern politicians in government. It's more than that.
The point is that, even if there is not a single northerner in the government, the northern regions should still see rapid development because THEY ARE INTEGRAL PARTS OF GHANA! No part of our country should be left behind in development because every part can contribute to our national development goals. Even the parts of Ghana that don't have any natural resources cannot be left behind. They are the responsibility of the rest of us.
The problem is the kind of politics ALL our leaders are playing - whether they come from the north or from the south. We are just not able to harness our scarce resources correctly because all our leaders are, first and foremost, for themselves. They are more interested in themselves and their personal wealth. We need selfless leaders - leaders who will remain poor themselves because they are actively seeing to it that the country as a whole becomes richer!!! Leaders who are committed to the nation rather than to themselves and their families and cronies. And leaders who are competent. On this score, both NDC and NPP have failed us. It doesn't matter whether they are Mahama, Bawumia, Kufuor, Akufo-Addo, Rawlings or whoever. They have ALL failed us. The country has remained poor but all these gentlemen are very rich themselves. Why is that so?
One of the greatest strengths of Nkrumah was his selflessness and commitment to the nation - at the expense of his own self.
