Sometimes without any thought of inferiority or reactionary complex, one is more than convinced that the Good Lord have been very unfair to the black race by bestowing on us negativity, crass stupidity, senseless avid greed and overt callousness.I am more than optimistic that the west would have been running to us instead of the opposite of always running to the IMF, the World Bank and other donor partners if a little bit of wisdom and conscience was employed in managing the avalanche of resources at our disposal.Unfortunately there is a natural instinct towards corruption and open theft reaping the nation of resources at the expense of the poor tax payer.organized looting in public institutions and government organizations with knowledge of top civil servants and government functionaries is the order of the day.The justice system have been riddled and paralyzed by the corruption canker as the hierarchy of legislature, the judiciary, the police and other law enforcement agencies are deeply involved in the corruption machinery. At the end of the day high profile individuals both in government and public service kept in position of responsible to ensure national development have a singular ambition of personally amassing wealth through fraudulent and criminal acts with impunity unchecked.Being so enormously rich mainly through defrauding and pilfering state coffers, they shamelessly display their opulence with impunity through extravagant spending and lavish lifestyle with no respect to the majority poor tax payer who cannot afford a days meal.Few good citizens who have perform a patriotic duty by speaking against corruption and other illegalities in public institutions have been brutally victimized by the system to keep its sanctity. Many have lost their jobs with some secretly murdered just because they performed a patriotic duty of exposing corruption. The justice system including our high courts and the AG Department are quick to cover cases of corruption usually involving high profile public officers and government functionaries particularly with lawyers so vulnerable and highly susceptible to bribery. The gap between the rich and poor keep on widening in our Country.Whiles majority Ghanaians cannot afford a day's meal, pay health and utility bills or education ,we have few elites with so much to spend and dissipate in extraordinary lavish lifestyle. So much to the extent that they can afford to buy luxury cars such as 4 wheel drives, built mansions and afford routine expensive holiday trips abroad for concubines at the expense of the poor tax payer.Whiles the economy suffers a set back because of financial misappropriation and mismanagement, genuine human resource potential who can hugely contribute to development go waste at will for lack of prioritization and prudent fiscal discipline. The situation is compounded by the fact that we have incompetent and incapable hands in key positions of responsibility in public institutions and government since these appointments are largely determined by political lobbying and influence coupled with cronyism monetary and material inducement by way of bribery and gifts offered for these positions in government institutions, organizations, agencies, boars etc.At the end of the day it is all about organized looting and sharing in typical mafia style in the interest of few elite other than nation building.A nation can only chuck genuine successes in development with patriotic leadership who inculcate sense of nationalism and hard work for the citizenry, particularly the youth to follow. When the impression is created that success can only be chalked through fraudulent and criminal act in widespread corruption virtually legal in my view, then it is a big problem.Countries that have chalked rapid socioeconomic development traditionally have patriotic and nationalistic leaders who just not instill discipline and hard work but put in stern measures against corruption and graft. The two major parties in Ghana the NDC and NPP in rule since the advent of multi-party democracy have failed miserably in this regard. The poor citizenry hence have been caught napping between the devil and red sea because Ghana is clearly a Banana State with laws in theory but not in reality.
