  Does this writer want to do politics or bring issues for discussion? This is not the first time that a wound has gaped after surgery and that CAN NOT BE ATTRIBUTED TO NEGLIGENCE AND/OR MISMANAGEMENT. Wounds gape across the world,even europe and america, without anybody saying it is negligence. There are people whose immunity,hygiene or nutritional status is simply low and they can get wound infection,now called SURGICAL SITE INFECTION. He should google CAUSES OF SURGICAL SITE INFECTION before pointing fingers.
  The only fault i can see here is that they could stil refer her to a higher centre when they get to their wits end.

  This story first done by TV3 is one of the acts of poor journalism I have ever witnessed. There's two sides to the story, from the mother of this child( mind you which is biased and not professional) and the doctors' side. You only take the side of this mother and make it look like she has been oppressed. She fed her child in the first place for her to get typhoid and not only the disease but to get complicated with her intestines developing holes, which then required surgery. Such surgical wound is classified as type 4 wound meaning the abdomen is dirty or filled with pus already. Is therefore not surprising this girl has developed this condition after the surgery, because no stitches can hold in an infected wound, even though the doctors will give very strong antibiotics. In conclusion, what this girl developed is not from negligence but rather purely factors on the patient's side. Take any doctor to court for this and the case will be thrown out immediately. You don't need to be a doctor before you know this. Lazy Ghanaian journalists!
