All the people who succeed in imposing themselves on us as our rulers are crooks. It does not matter whether they come in the garb of the NDC or the NPP. No politician of note in Ghana has not been involved in one dubious deal or the other. It doesn't matter whether it is JJ, Kufuor, Mills, Mahama, Akufo-Addo, Stan Dogbe or whoever. They are all crooks. You have to be a crook to be able to even get there and work with/among them.
Everybody knows political office is a gold mine that is why the life and death struggle to get into one such position. It is in our very natures and it is in the system that we have created.
Woyome is just one of the crooked acts gone bad (for them). Woyome is clearly just the fall guy. He could never have gotten away with so much without accomplices. And many of these accomplices are still there in the corridors of power doing similar things.
And we are not talking of flushing ALL OF THEM out! We are politicizing and tribalizing it!!!

What is this useless akpeteshie/Brukutu soaking jerk talking about? The rise in defense of Woyome, in a typical Trokosi-Nyebroism fashion, is not just annoying but wreaks of abject stupidity, especially as this reprobate is trying to overlook the fact that it was rather his own party, the NDC and not the NPP, which is mocking Ghanaian with the pretense of retrieving the money from Woyome. What an idiot! Granted that Woyome did no wrong, why does Andy make of the fact that members of his own party, spearheaded by Martin Amidu and the then Prof Mills, initiated the move to have the monies retrieved? Where does the npp falls in this process? So, when are these Trokosis gonna separate Nyebroism from issues bothering on the reality and nationalism? Well, if Ghana is too hot for these Trokosis, they can pack and leave for Togo. After all, it sounds so refreshing to have some dimwitted Anlo-Trokosi terrorist movement (as Dr. BOTWE Asamoah has observed), with seperatist agenda, welcomely agitating to have autonomy on the evil Trokosiland - the former Transvolta Togoland. How sweet this sound! I can assure these miscreants that if Mahama did not grant them the permit, the good people of Ghana would do.

The Anlos were part of Gold Coast since 1850. They were never a German colony. Botwe-Asamoah admitted that in his article if you read it well. Moreover, the Anlos never voted in the 1956 plebiscite and they have NEVER been part of a movement to leave Ghana or Gold Coast. Where would they be leaving to? They were NEVER part of German or British Togoland and they were never part of TVT.

In the first place, the Anlos became part of the then Gold Coast by accident - the white man's fault. Their original home was suppose to be Togoland. BTW, I'm not a historian but what I know is that all Mensahs are spelt the same, be it Fanti-Mensah, krobo-Mensah, Trokosi-Mensah.....the only difference for, say, a Ga-Mensah to identify himself from Asante-Mensah, is when a Ga qualify his Mensah with Tei (as seen in the naming of the much aggrieved sour looser, Enoch Tei-Mensah). Otherwise the names are the same everywhere. Much the same way, the Anlo-Trokosi cannot be different from the rest of their cousins in Trokosiland, and by extention, Togolese Trokosis. It was actually the error of demarcation that separated the Anlo-Trokosi from the rest of their Togolese counterparts. Culturally they are the same. For instant, voodoo and young girls molesting (the origin of the word trokosi) is a common practice among the divide. It,therefore, makes no sense to me for the Anlo-Trokosis to distant themselves from the seperatist movement of terror, uprising from Trokosiland.

This case was only ever going to succeed as a conspiracy trial, because Woyome couldn't have obtained the money without the complicity of govt "insiders". So Kwawukume has a valid point. The govt was never going to let that happen, because the implications would have shown the NDC to have benefitted financially, directly, from Woyome. The shoddy prosecution of both trials by the AG's dept, in my opinion, was calculated - this govt doesn't want Woyome convicted for the reason I've stated above. Ghana's doomed. No wonder some folks on social media are asking for a return to the buga buga days of military rule( I'm dead against that).

You are the only person who has written something sensible and so I have chosen to respond to you. As for the assorted group of Nitwits, Bigots and Semi-educated Ghanaweb Vagrants (NIBSEGV), I DON'T even think they understood my piece. Their pea-brain pin-heads cannot comprehend the sarcasm in which it is embalmed.
You see, this case goes beyond the NDC and engulfs the NPP too, to the highest level - Kufuor, and some international figures from Italy, Austria and Britain, who all shared in the booty; in fact, masterminded it! Woyome is just the scape-goat, as it is proving, a very stubborn one which can fight back.
Some key qs MUST be answered to unravel the mystery surrounding the basis of Woyome's claim of successfully executing a financial structuring, that's, arranging for a loan from an Austrian consortium to finance the stadia project, etc., prior to the cancellation of the contract on ex-President's Kufuor's initiative and order. The NPP claimed they cancelled cos they couldn't secure the financing. Now, a judge has said that the NPP govt was presented with two options to choose from, meaning an offer of a loan was secured! Phew! If that's the case and Mpiani and Co are lying, then Woyome has a solid case and our 51m cedis gone forever! If that's not the case, then Woyome and his accomplices had sprung a fast one on us, and we must get them to cough the money back. It is as simple as that, and all this brouhaha is just a smokescreen.

Samuel Nkegbe,
You see the problem with you guys who have learned to read and write somehow in English and presuming that you are educated and informed is a major problem in Africa. What do you really know about state formation and building and the associated language in which the discourse is held?
Did I make any claim to writing a scholarly article for an academic journal? Even that, have you ever heard of Thomas Kuhn and his classic on scientific [academic] discourse and evolution?
Have you by any chance read a single one of the myriads polemics churned out by whites in their civilising processes or bid to civilise their societies?
Did you also read or heard Ken Kuranchie say that Ghanaians were not civilised when he was released from prison for bad-mouthing the SC during the election petition circus? What do you think of his claim?
The problem of Africans showing respect to and genuflecting to so-called leaders who are nothing more than mere "thieves and thiefettes", despots and mediocre mis-rulers not fit to be in charge of a village football team must be confronted. It is a major bane contributing to the cycle of misgovernance and corruption in Africa, including Ghana.

The nation has had a run of such AGs who are in cahoots with the thieves and scoundrels who are looting the state.
Coupled with judges whose interest are a skewed they are now rubbing salt in the wounds and the bigots are heralding this as a vindication.
It does not matter who says what, the evidence is clear and is proof of a swindle. The looting is going on unabated and money is being stashed away in small countries away from the European banks which are increasingly clamping down on looted cash.
In their folly the bigots in support of this nonsense think they are smart.
Just listen to the drivel that we are being fed, just to curry favour in the hope of getting some crumbs from the looting brigade.

Man impregnates daughter
A Circuit Court at Bekwai in the Ashanti Region has sentenced a 32-year-old man, Augustine Osei, to 16 years imprisonment with hard labour for impregnating his daughter.
The convict was said to have repeatedly defiled the 13-year old. Osei, a native of Ofoase Kokoben, was convicted on his plea of guilty to two counts of defilement and incest, contrary to sections 101 and 105 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
It was revealed that the convict defiled his daughter on three occasions in their family house at Ofoase Kokoben, near Anwia Nkwanta while his pregnant wife, Akua Afriyie, was away.
The man’s actions were revealed when the class five pupil went to a hospital for medical check-up, complaining of feverishness and stomach pains.
During medical examination, it was discovered that she was pregnant.
Upon interrogation, she pointed at her father as the one responsible for the pregnancy.
Police prosecutor, Chief Inspector Dennis Nana Duku, informed the court that the complainant, Yaw Offin, was the grandfather of the victim, while the convict, Augustine Osei, was a farmer and native of Ofoase Kokoben.
According to him, the convict and the girl’s mother, for some time now, had been cohabitating, living like husband and wife in the local community.
Prosecution said they lived together with their 13-year-old daughter and that Osei took advantage of his wife’s absence and forcibly had sexual intercourse with the daughter in July 2014 after inviting the innocent girl to their room.
Chief Inspector Duku narrated that the convict threatened his daughter with death and succeeded in further abusing the child on different occasions till the girl fell ill and was taken to the hospital, where it was revealed that she was pregnant.
The police prosecutor indicated that the girl blew the cover of her father when the mother demanded to know the man responsible for the 21-week pregnancy.
When he was confronted, Osei pleaded for forgiveness. Akua Afriyie subsequently reported the incident to her father who lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of the convict who admitted to the offence in his caution statement.
He was, therefore, charged and arraigned after police investigations, leading to his eventual conviction.
Court remands father for incest and defilement
A 47-year-old farmer who is accused of having sex with his 12 year old daughter at Manhia, near Amasaman on Monday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.
James Debrah, who is facing charges of defilement and incest, has denied the charge.
The Court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin Doku remanded Debrah into police custody to reappear on October 26.
Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the court that the victim’s mother who is the complainant in the case was married to Debrah but they had separated two years ago.
Detective Inspector Atimbire said the complainant took custody of their four children. Somewhere in December last year, the victim and two other siblings visited their father while on holidays at Manhia.
During their stay, whenever retiring to bed, prosecution said Debrah ask the victim to remove her dress and he gave her a cloth to cover herself.
According to prosecution Debrah, the victim and her other two siblings slept on the floor.
The prosecutor said while sleeping, Debrah removed the victim’s pant and had sex with her and cleaned the victim’s vagina with a toilet roll.
Detective Inspector Atimbire said he continued to pick up the victim to his residence and repeated his sexual activities after the holidays.
On September 25, this year, at about 6:00pm, he went to pick the victim at her mother’s residence at Sakumono and had sex with her.
Prosecution said the victim returned to her mother at Sakumono, and her mother became suspicious of the accused person’s behavior and hence quizzed the victim who let the cat out of the bag.
The prosecutor said the complainant reported the matter to the Police at Baatsona on October 1, this year. The Police, prosecution said, issued a medical form to the victim who was examined and treated by a medical officer.
On October 7, this year Debrah was arrested and in his caution statement denied the offence.
Father jailed 20 years for incest
A 35-year old mechanic who had sex with his four year old daughter was on Tuesday sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court.
This was after Kofi Akorful was found guilty on the charge of incest by the court presided over by Mrs Rita Agyemang Budu at the end of the trial.
Prosecuting Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Moses Atibilla said the complainant was a trader and the mother of the victim whiles Akorful lives with the complainant and victim in a wooden kiosk at Darkuman.
According to prosecution, the convict on September 15, last year, had sex with the victim at about 1230 hours when the complainant was asleep.
Prosecution said the convict before having sex with the victim, went ahead to hold the hand of the complainant (victim’s mother) to see if indeed she was asleep and repeated the act early this year.
Prosecution said on April 6, when the complainant was preparing the victim for school, she complained of pains in her vagina.
The victim then told the complainant that it was her father who had sex with her and a report was made to the Police at Kaneshie where the victim was medically examined.
The prosecution said Akorful denied the offence in his caution statement.
Farmer jailed 7yrs for defiling daughter
A 40-year old farmer at Ajumako Mando in the Central Region was on Tuesday sentenced to seven years imprisonment in hard labour by a Cape Coast Circuit Court for defiling his 13 year-old daughter.
The convict, Isaac Okyere, who pleaded not guilty to the charges of defilement and incest, was found guilty by the court after trial.
The court presided over by Mr. Kofi Seshie Ametewee sentenced Okyere to seven years for defilement and three years in hard labour for incest ; to run concurrently.
Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Christina Sampong told the court that Okyere and his daughter (victim), a class six pupil, had been living together at Tweikukrom near Ajumako Mando for the past ten years after her mother divorced him and left for Accra.
She said on Friday February 16, 2015, the victim went to the Ajumako Police station and reported that her father had forcibly had sexual intercourse with her in his room.
Chief Inspector Sampong said Okyere was arrested and handed over to the Domestic Violence Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Breman Asikuma for further investigations, which revealed that, on Saturday January 24, this year, at about 1700hrs; Okyere returned from his farm with the victim, lured her into his room and sexually abused her.
The prosecution said the victim narrated her ordeal to her grandmother who refused to act on it hence the victim’s decision to lodge a complaint at the police station where a medical form issued and endorsed by a medical doctor indicated that she had been defiled.
Incest dad jailed 18 years
The Kumasi gender-based court, presided over by Janet Anima Maafo, has sentenced Victor Danso, 37 years of age, to 18 years’ imprisonment in hard labour for sleeping with his daughter to compensate for the payment of her school fees.
Danso, a taxi driver, who succeeded in having sexual intercourse with his 17-year-old biological daughter—who is in senior high school—has begun paying for the consequences of his conduct.
At the court, he pleaded guilty to two counts of incest and assault, contrary to Sections 105(1) and 84 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29) as amended by Section 11 of Act 554/98.
Presenting the facts of the case to the court, Chief Inspector Philip Yao Bebli said the victim’s mother, who is the complainant in the case, is a trader residing at Nsawam in the Eastern Region, whilst the convict is a resident of Bremang, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to the prosecution, the girl stays with her mother at Nsawam but goes to stay with her father in Kumasi when her school goes on mid-term holidays.
Sometime in March 2014, Danso convinced his daughter and succeeded in having sexual intercourse with her, after which he threatened her with non-payment of her school fees and death if she disclosed her ordeal to anybody.
For fear of losing her education, the victim consented to the sexual demands of her father on five different occasions.
Chief Inspector P.Y. Bebli disclosed that on October 30, 2014, the man demanded sex with his daughter again but this time she declined her father’s request.
Even though he struggled with her, she managed to escape with bruises on her right hand and made a telephone call to her mother at Nsawam and disclosed her ordeal to her.
Her mother rushed to Kumasi and lodged a formal complaint with the Suntreso District Police Command, resulting in his arrest. He admitted having had sex with his daughter but said it was on only one occasion.
Father before court for defiling daughter
The Accra Circuit Court has remanded a 44-year-old father accused of allegedly defiling his biological daughter repeatedly for two years.
The court remanded Solomon Addae Mensah, an electrician, to reappear on September 23, 2014.
Standing trial on three counts of defilement, incest and assault, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Even though the accused person denied defiling his daughter upon his arrest on July 11, 2014 and claimed he only assaulted her physically, the court heard that the victim confided in her class teacher that she had been sexually assaulted by her father on many occasions.
Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Adiza Suleman, said the teacher, after hearing the story of the teenager, reported the case to the Kaneshie Division of the Domestic Violence, and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service.
According to ASP Suleman, the father of the victim sexually abused her when she was 11-year-old and usually told her to not inform anyone about it.
It is reported that Mensah Addae threatened his daughter with a gun and gave her a whitish substance believed to be narcotic drug before each sexual assault.
ASP Suleman said the victim, now 13, who could no longer bear the ordeal, informed her class teacher.
At the police station, she said, the victim was issued a medical form and was taken to the hospital.
Upon the arrest of the accused person, police investigations showed that the victim had assault marks all over her body, while there was a discharge from her private parts.
According to the Kaneshie Division Coordinator of DOVVSU, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ms Anita Abrakwa, the victim, whose mother died when she was seven years, lived in the same house with her father and her stepmother in the Kaneshie Estates.
After the victim’s mother died she lived with a family friend until she was 11 when her father went for her to live with him.
“But as soon as she moved in with her father, he started having carnal knowledge of her under threat,” she said.
According to Ms Abrakwa, “the victim said she had been subjected to many sexual bouts since she was 11, but her father had put fear in her to not inform anyone."
He was said to have threatened to kill his daughter and dump her body in a manhole if she ever told anyone about the act.
“But the victim, after one of those sexual assaults, could not bear the pain and threats any longer and reported her ordeal to her teacher,” the DOVVSU coordinator added.
The victim produced tattered panties which she said her father tore into shreds as he attempted to force her into having sex with him.
Ms Abrakwa said a medical report form was immediately issued to the victim and an examination at the Police Hospital indicated that her hymen had been broken.
She said when the police searched the residence of the suspect, the gun he had been using to threaten his daughter could not be found, but a mask was retrieved.
On the advice of the Social Welfare Department, the victim now lives with her class teacher until the court decides on the case.
A
Mason jailed for incest
An Accra circuit court has sentenced a mason to five years’ imprisonment for having sex with his 17-year-old daughter. Richard Kumi pleaded guilty to the charge of incest when he made his first appearance before the court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava.
The judge said the court gave him a minimum sentence because he spared the court the ordeal of a full trial. The victim is said to have had no opening in her vagina and after a surgery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Kumi began having sex with her instead of sending the victim for review at the hospital.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Adiza Suleman said the victim lived with her grandparents at Gomoa Akroful in the Central Region and the convict resided at Shiashie in Accra. According to ASP Suleman, the victim had no opening in her vagina and as result suffered severe pains when she was 12 years old and did not have the monthly menstrual cycle.
The prosecutor said in August last year, the victim was brought from Goma Akroful by her mother to live with Kumi at Shaishie. Later the victim was taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for some months where she was operated on successfully. During that period Kumi bathed and cleaned the victim until she recuperated from her surgery.
After the surgery, Kumi was to send the victim to the hospital for review but forced the victim to have sex with her and sometimes beat her whenever she refused to yield to her father’s sexual demands.
On June 16, the victim escaped to her grandparents at Gomoa Akroful and informed them about the ordeal her father was taking her through. Prosecution said Kumi went to visit his wife at Agona Swedru and he was lured to the Police Station where he was arrested and brought to the Airport Police.
Court remands labourer for having sex with daughter
A Tarkwa Circuit Court on Friday remanded a 45 year-old labourer, Kwabena Eshun, into Prison custody for allegedly having sexual intercourse with his nine year-old daughter at Nkanponase in the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality.
The accused pleaded not guilty to incest and will re-appear on July 8 this year. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided by Mr. Justice Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant Love Akins is a senior sister to the victim and lived in the same house with the accused who is the victim’s father.
He said about four months ago, the victim’s mother left the victim in the care of the accused when she left the house early in the morning to go and sell grandnut cake. Chief Inspector Amponsah said the accused took advantage of the absence of the victim’s mother and had sexual intercourse with the victim on a wooden bench in his bed room on four different occasions that day.
After the act, the accused warned the victim not to disclose what happened to anyone else she will die and gave her one Ghana cedis as her pocket money for school, he said.
Chief Inspector Amponsah said two weeks later, the teacher of the victim noticed that the attitude of the victim had changed and invited her mother to the school and when the victim was questioned as to who has been having sex with her, she mentioned the accused as the one.
He said a report was made to the Police and the accused was arrested and detained for investigation. A medical form was issued to the victim for examination at the Tarkwa Government Hospital and Dr. Agnes Asare who examined the victim indicated in her report that the victim was sexually active.
Incest CEPS officer for court
A 42-year-old official of the Customs Exercise and Preventive Service (CEPS), accused of raping, defiling and sodomizing his four biological children, will be arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court today.
Michael Kojo Acquah, an administrative officer at The Revenue Collection Division, is alleged to have sexually molested his kids whose ages are between ten months, seven years, 11 and 20 years.
According to Chief Superintendent Paul Kontomah, the Accra Regional Police Crime Officer, the incident was reported last Tuesday.
He disclosed that one Titiana Kotlyarenko, Executive Director of Enslavement Alliance West Africa, came to the police station with one Emily Lawa, a Social Service Department Officer of the Ghana Police Service, to report that the accused, Acquah, had sodomized his seven-year-old son and had also sodomized, defiled and raped three of his daughters aged ten months, 11 years and 20 years respectively.
Based on this information, Chief Superintendent Kontomah claimed, the police apprehended Acquah at his matrimonial home Saturday morning at Banana Inn near Mamprobi, Accra.
He said forms were then issued to the victims for medical examination at the Police Hospital.
According to Chief Superintendent Kontomah, the police had since received the medical reports and would present them before court as evidence.
Wife’s Confession
Meanwhile, the wife of the accused (name withheld), according to information gathered, told the police that that was the second time the husband, to whom she had been married for 25 years, had sexually molested his biological children.
In 2010, Acquah was said to have raped his first daughter (now 20 years of age) and the matter was reported to the Ministries Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) where he was allegedly remanded into prison custody for three months.
On May 18, 2014, while she was asleep with the children, the mother said, Acquah, who sleeps in a separate room, entered their room and took their ten-month-old baby, placed her at the edge of the bed and inserted his manhood into her mouth.
The mother was reported to have said that when she felt that her daughter was not lying by her side, she immediately woke up only to find her daughter sucking his father’s penis.
The following day, according to the wife, she reported the matter to an NGO for help since the police refused to act on the previous complaint lodged.
Children’s Confession
The seven-year-old son allegedly told the police that his father had anal sex with him early last month while he was asleep.
The boy was reported to have added that he even pulled a knife at the father the following day because he was getting fed-up with his dad’s actions. The two girls also confirmed in their respective statements that their father had sexually abused them.
Medical Reports
Reports issued from the Police Hospital indicated that there had been penetration in their private parts of the girls.
The reports revealed that all the girls had their hymens broken.
The boy, the medical report revealed, was also sodomized.
Incestuous father’s plea annoys judge
A 40-year-old businessman, Kwame Ofori, is on police record to have hoodwinked his 15-year-old daughter into believing that it is not a crime for a father to sleep with his biological kid.
Ofori, a divorcee, who reportedly told his daughter that “such matters are always shown on TV,” is consequently facing charges of defilement and incest before the Agona Swedru Circuit Court.
Ofori’s plea of not guilty to the charges caused the Presiding Judge of the Akyem Swedru Circuit Court, Mr Yaw Atta Sampong, to remand him in prison custody to appear again before him at a later date.
Inspector Isaac Amon informed the court that on December 31, 2013, Ofori sent his daughter to buy him food from town.
On her return, the accused offered her an opened bottle of Coca Cola to drink but immediately after drinking it she fell asleep, the prosecutor further stated.
Inspector Amon said that Ofori then carried her daughter onto his bed and sexually abused her and then warned her not to inform anybody about it.
“He further deceived her that it was not an offence for a father to sleep with his biological daughter as such matters were always shown on television,” the prosecutor stated further.
Inspector Amon said the victim, however, informed her mother, Rose Gomashie, who lodged a complaint with the Domestic Violence Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Swedru Divisional Police Command that led to Ofori’s arrest.

The 20-year-old lady told Nhyira FM’s Ewiase mu Nsem her father; Kojo Mintah threatened her with the Antoa deity into having sex with her about ten times over a period of one year.

“She is of age, an adult…because she knows that the father is her close blood relation and the father too knows that she is his daughter, and when you go into the law, the two should be charged,” the police said.

Man Rapes Daughter
A 44-year-old plumber from Menzkrom has been arrested by the Dansoman branch of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service for reportedly having a series of wild sexual bouts with his 15-year-old daughter.
Suspect William Sakyie was said to have started engaging his daughter in the incestuous affair when she was 13 years.
With beatings and threats that he would no longer take care of the victim’s educational needs, the incest father, according to a family member, was able to get away with it until February10 2010, when he was arrested.
According to a family source, the suspect took custody of the victim from the mother when she was only one and a half years old.
“William started his sexual advances towards the victim after the divorce with his second wife,” the source intimated, stressing that the suspect often beat the victim and denied her feeding fee whenever she resisted him.
The source averred that the victim finally reported the matter to the police when she could no longer bear the abuse.
Narrating the incident to the paper, the victim said William Sakyie, after the day’s work, often mounted her every night while she was sleeping.
She said, “I kept the matter to my self until February 10, 2010. My father, after work, pounced on me that night as usual, to have sex with me and when I refused, he gave me some beatings and finally succeeded in sleeping with me.”
Confirming the story, the Public Relations Officer of DOVVSU, Inspector Irene Opong, indicated that the victim had been given a form for medical examination whilst the suspect was being prepared for court.
Driver defiles daughter
Asamankese, March 6, GNA - Kofi Danso, a 36-year-old driver, was on Friday arraigned at the Asamankese Circuit Court on two counts of defilement and incest.
He pleaded not guilty for defiling his daughter, aged 12. The accused had days earlier appeared before the Kade District Magistrate's Court and was remanded in custody to be sent to a Higher Court which had the jurisdiction to try defilement and incest cases. Presenting the facts of the case, Police Inspector Francis Cobbina said Danso lived in the same house at Akyem Abodom with his wife and daughter. He said on February 05 at about 0030 hours, Danso sneaked into the room where the daughter was sleeping and attempted to have sex with her but was caught by his wife.
When the woman questioned him, he explained that he was about to help her do her homework in addition to advising her. The prosecutor said the woman who was not convinced with the explanation from her husband quarrelled with him. The girl, shortly after the incident, told her mother that last December, when she (mother) travelled to Asuom her home town, her father had sexual intercourse with her. The father first said he was teaching her some "styles" for her future sexual intercourse.
He first inserted his finger into her sexual organ then immediately followed by inserting his male organ. After the act, the father gave a bucket of hot water to the girl to sit on the vapour to heal any possible wounds. She further disclosed that the father had sexual intercourse with her on three occasions during while her mother was away but warned her against telling anyone otherwise he would beat her to death. The mother, subsequently, took the girl to the Kade Government Hospital for examination and treatment.

Man impregnates daughter
Asamankese, Feb. 23, GNA - Daniel Doudo, a 65-year-old farmer, was on Tuesday arraigned before the Asamankese Circuit court, charged with having sexual relations with his daughter.
The court was told that as a result of the act, the 17-year-old girl is now four months pregnant.
Duodu pleaded not guilty to incest and was remanded in prison custody until March 08.
Police Detective Inspector, R. K. Yeboah, told the court that, Duodu lived with the daughter and her mother in the same house at Asuboi. He said about five months ago, the Junior High School girl told her school teachers that the father had sexual intercourse with her, when the mother travelled.
The girl made other reports of sexual abuse by the father to the teachers.
The prosecutor said the teachers informed the chief, the assembly member and the unit committee about the case but when Duodu was called before the chief, he denied the allegation. Inspector Yeboah said subsequently the girl stopped schooling and the headmaster and teachers of her school made a follow-up to her house to find out why.
She told them that she was pregnant and that her father was responsible.
The teachers together with the assembly member and the unit committee went to the Suhum Social Welfare Office to report the case. On February 16, officials of the Social Welfare and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice went to the Suhum Police station and reported the case.
The police then arrested Duodu, who in his caution statement denied the offence and rather named one Kwasi Larbi as responsible for his daughter's pregnancy.
The District Commander then invited the girl, who during interrogation, insisted that her pregnancy was the result of his sexual relations with her father.
