  If you need a passport feign Togolese and Asiedu AKAATIA would get you one ASAP. Who told you they are out of stock? They are stashed at the ndc headquarters waiting to be shipped to the Togo border.

  Ghana has always have problems with issue of passports.I cannot understand why passport office comes Under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instead of Ministry of Interior, as it was during CPP's administration. Govt need to introduce new measures for the issue of passports. Diplomatic passports can be issued by Min FA.on prior approval of the Head of State.

  Centralization of Ghana's passport printing is not the problem; the passport office faces issues of bribery, corruption and security lapses that afflict every institution in Ghana. Regional offices are not intended to print passports in a country like Ghana where telecommunications network, network security and services is so slow a goat can run circles around.
  
  Regional passport offices were tasked wisely with pre-screening process of aplications at the local level. The problem at the Accra office is just a matter of bribery and a cottage industry created by middle men and deal makers to extract money from passport applicants who are ignorant and impatient with processes. We could have a smooth process if and if only applicants can wait until they are invited to come to Accra for passport application authentication. But like everything else, applicants believe coming to Accra and bribing their way via facilitators is the way to go.
  
  What is wrong with centralized printing? Nothing except the post office system is lousy and there is no safe way to deliver passports to rightful owners in a country where looking for house address is as complicated and troublesome as our politics.

  AS SOON AS FINAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR ISSUANCE OF BIOMETRIC PASSPORT ARE IN PLACE, THE GHANA HIGH COMMISSION WILL INFORM ITS NATIONALS ACCORDINGLY.
