These people are ruthless and shamefully lawless, and would kill if necessary to achieve their objectives.
But the real story in my view is, the BNI acting on a tip-off before acting. And as Borkor correctly pointed out, how could the BNI not know the presence of the three mercenaries in the country, and only found that out after a tip-off? Are we safe? How could these SA mercenaries could have passed customs at KIA and BNI not know about it?
The only time the short sighted Ghanaian will start asking such questions would be after a terrorist attack such as happened recently in Ivory Coast. I think the whole Ghanaian orientation on the mercenary issue is misdirected as usual. We should start to take BNI to task. What system does the BNI have in place to spot terrorist? Do we need legislation in Parliament that compels hotels in the country to collaborate with BNI in sharing information of their guests? BNI undoubtedly is asleep at the wheels, and we must demand more of them if we are to stay safe as a country.

I hope it is not lost on the NPP that the fact that it is their supporters who are most vociferous defending the indefensible on platforms like this does not mean that the majority of Ghanaians side with what they planned, we are more discerning then they take us to be! We all note that in Ghana it is the floating voters that decide the winner of the presidential elections and they are normally silent in such issues. NPP being vociferous will not change anything, you were caught pants down and the floating voter will take note of this!
My plea to our security operatives; be vigilant and don't give them further ammunition to launch their obviously well planned and rehearsed alternative actions. It looks to me they want to create chaos in the country leading to the November elections because the signs are clear to them that they will not win. They have no convincing message! They seem to have planned alternative actions in anticipated evolving reactions to their plans. Strong arm tactics by our security operatives will not work in such situations because they will feed into their plans. What the security operatives need to do is to trap them and expose their schemes for all to see and then to apply the law! Good luck guys, you can do it!
