China is second biggest economy in the world.They have some of the most sucessful indusries as well.They own some of the biggest banks.Even though china is socialist,I will not attribute their sucess to socialism but good go ... read full comment

As long as an organisation is being run properly and it's operating within the right environment, chances are it would be sucessful. That stupid ideological thinking which attributes sucess or failure to capitalism or socialism is for lazy thinkers.
The fact is both systems can work.Every single country in the world practices a combination of the two system.The US,UK,the scandinavian countries all practice a mix of the two systems.Norway does have a high tax rate with the state controlling huge chunks of resources but they were one of the few western countries to thrive during the last recession.
Fact is , for any business to thrive, certain basics must be in place.Productivity must be high but if you have stupid gov officials who overload government enterprises with relatives and the company fails, the company would have failed not because it was state owned but bad management.I have just left a business where the major shareholders are loading it with friends and family and the trend have changed for the worse

In 1942, Sir William Beveridge, a prominent government economist, was commissioned to write a report on social policy to advise how Britain should rebuild after World War Two.
In his report, Beveridge identified society's five "Great Evils", namely: want, disease, ignorance, squalor and idleness. He proposed a revolutionary form of government organisation, with an ambitious system of social security designed to set new standards for citizen welfare, a system we now call the welfare state.
The Beveridge Report set out some radical and controversial new ideas and was initially set to play a significant role in World War Two itself.
A key component of this report was a National Health Service that was free at the point of access and paid for by taxation. This idea went on to form the basis for the NHS when it was introduced in 1948.

In 1945, as World War Two was reaching its conclusion, Labour achieved a shock election victory. Winston Churchill was ousted as prime minister and replaced by the relatively unknown Labour leader Clement Attlee.
Labour won the election with a manifesto drawing directly on the Beveridge Report. It promised a National Health Service that would make healthcare available to those who had previously been unable to afford it.
Once elected, Labour's Minister for Health, Nye Bevan, was tasked with leading its creation. Bevan's background as a Welsh miner and staunch trade unionist fuelled his passion to make the NHS a reality.
The NHS represented a radical shift in the organisation and provision of health services. Bevan faced strong initial opposition from both Labour and Conservative MPs, as well as from the British Medical Association.
He eventually won over the detractors and in 1946 the National Health Service Act was passed, paving the way for the NHS to be launched on 5 July 1948.

Who are those incompetent voter public who sub as workers at state-owned institutions led by politicians elected into national offices? How come Mensa-Otabil with all his enlightenment not created private jobs for all of his congregation to move them from an incompetent government work force rolls which unbeknownst to them provide tax-exempt status to the Mensa-Otabil industrial stranglehold?
To prove that all of government is incompetent and not a workforce of tribal and political party preferred individuals engaged in indoctrinated ideas let us revisit a one party political system of government that has worked so well that Mensa Otabil and all the free market economy and multi party lovers can't help but flock to rejuvinate in the Chinese fountain of economic freedoms that has become the unspoken secret of all the fake businesses taking hold in Ghana.
