  I sympathise with the author on this matter, but, I fear not much will be done about it as it's not "vote winning" issue. GH is increasingly a lawless country at all levels of society.

  Don't be a pessimist always. Something can be done starting in a small way. Ghana is better than most countries. Believe in your country.

  The problem with Ghana starts right from the gateway to Ghana, the Kotoka Airport. Each blessed day and night people aimlessly go to the airport to engage in non productive activities but petty crime which contribute to congestion at the airport. Fast forward to Circle and some of the busy city centers and the story is the same. We have allowed street hawkers to take over streets and roadways with the accompanying petty criminal. Road congestion and most moving violations in Accra are the result of unpolished drivers and street level vendors. If city business centers are cleared of unwanted activities with help from community level leaders we could minimize road violations and accidents.
  
  Police have always had the opportunity to be worthy of their profession but are too busy following the ill-natured practice of politicians and political operatives they do not see the gold mine before their very blind eyes. But the Ghana police is hamstrung by a political climate where some ignorant politician will take the side of the trotro drivers and owners union and street level petty traders over life and safety issues police must enforce. It's an issue of ignorance brought on by political entrenched benefits and politics of foresight; foresight will lose each time with Ghanaians.

  So far as this rectiket buses has roadwolthy stiker they will continue working unles dvla withhold their certificates and the imsurance companies must alo check the cars b4 insuring it.
