What do you say about the missing 96 percent -- the dark energy and the dark matter?
A nice treat indeed.

I am also not surprised that Tekonline.org was the first to comment on this topic. Your interest on this site has always been on technical/scientific topics and you have your own site to back up your inclinations.
We need more articles of such nature on this site. They give us more knowledge than all these easy to write articles on Akufo-Addo, Mahama, Agyapong, Agyepong, Swarzenegger, etc.
It's a pity people like Francis Kwarteng, who is trained in Science, doesn't write on such topics but "limits" himself to the dirty mundane politics of our country. I believe Kwarteng could write very well on science, too, and mark himself from the "common herd" of the Okoampas and Bokors who know nothing about science...
Thank you, Seshie, and Tekonline.org for coming here now and then. I hope Seshie gets the other parts of his articles here too.

I have also spoken to Mr Kwarteng about Science Digest and how he could be of great help but it seems the audience is what matters most to him.Thank you.

Thank you for reminding us that there are other important things to address our minds to. May be you should simplify the subject and address your thoughts to young minds. As for us we have already been corrupted to think only politics is important. Look at their demeanor, are they the only role models for our kids?

Religion, philosophy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology etc were from the beginning one subject but man atomised and fragmented them due to ignorance. Out of nothing came something and all things known. Out of the motive force of the original I am emanated all things. Science cannot explain all things. Most of the origins of the universe cannot be explained in words but those who know, know!

Imagine being an animal, what will this research mean to you? Some people think that science can explain anything but no. What is that "Big Bang"? And from where did it come from? It just happen from nowhere?
Imagine the bombs dropped on Nagaski and Hiroshima? Those bombs came from nowhere, right? Somebody dropped them isn't it? The world did not come by itself and I don't care who says what. There are too many unexplainable things scattered around the world that scientist have no clue about their origin and they are trying to tell us that the world came by itself? Apuu. Fools die just because they are fools.

The important thing is for us, as Africans, to be HUNGRY FOR KNOWLEDGE, at all times. Even as far back as about 400 BC (yes, that is BC), Democritus was pondering the existence of the smallest indivisible part of matter and proposed the concept of the atom.
Now, to the question of who created the creator, or something couldn't have come out of nothingness, blame that on the human brain. Such notions as "a beginning and an end", "a cause and an effect", etc, are all constructs of the human brain, something we developed as babies. That is why many concepts in Physics appear unimaginable and contrary to human intuition. A good example is time travel as described with the Theory of Relativity.
Then there is quantum mechanics, where some of the concepts are totally outside human experience and can be best described as "spooky". Now, for your Sunday intrigue, google "quantum entanglement" -- something that would make juju look like a kindergarten magic show!

I am surprised that the editor missed Part 1 of the 3 series submitted for publication.
May be he will publish the rest in the course of the week.

Hanku,
A big thank you for writing these series. And in such simple language and form most can understand. We need of such scientific writings from you who are scientists, as indeed, the religious lunatics, have taken over the asylum that is Ghana!
I have almost thrown my arms into the air and given up in despair. Western education is not leading to expansion of the number of people whose cosmology and cosmogony have evolved from the primitive substantive rationalisation of the cosmos to the scientific and rational. Rather, the reverse seems to be the case, with the so-called educated leading the pack rooted in the primitivity of the mostly illiterate and peasant parents or grandfathers. Some like Obinim vied to out-compete Kweku Bonsam! the Duncan-Williams, Otabils, Hewards are not much better, as they sell their fables, snake oil and holy waters to the gullible masses!
The worst of it seeing those who have studied science being among the pack pandering their ignorance about the origin and study of the cosmos. You are a breath of fresh air. Don't relent.
