Early years education is vital to give children an early start in life. However when Minister are wasting money in branding a buses with figure for campaign who would think strategically about the futre of tomorrow children. definitely not the Minister of Education and her deputy nor the President and his brother who put themselves first before vulnerable children and needy in Ghana. Shame unto to you all. Kwame Nkrumah came from a poor family yet never made building his own mansion as a prirority when he came to power. This is what we call Ghana who is 59 years of age since so called independence but has not learnt vital lessons from their colonial Masters since they left office. Education has turned Britain and Germany , Poland round when it is offered free universal for all children under 18yrs. What has we learnt to boost of other than making loud mouth about other countries developments.

I am surprised at your comment. His message is clearly addressed to at least first degree holders in charge of govt depts and who have to deal with others from all over the world in negotiations, etc. And as he clarified, many have Masters and PHDs with 10-40 years experience. That and this article are no matter for the man on the street, who might be even a stark illiterate. If you are saying such Ghanaians holding 1st degrees can't understand the English written here, then you have just proven him right: Ghanaians have become semi-illiterates! Case closed!
As I wrote in an article a long time ago, even Mobutu had managed to make the Congo more literate than Ghana since the overthrow of the CPP. As for E. African countries, far below Ghana in 1960, we can only dream of the literacy rates they have chalked since independence. No wonder, Twi has become the lingua franca for even politicians and govt Ministers speaking on national issues to national and international audience. I read better English on Angolan websites, a Lusophone country - than on Ghanaian websites!

Your point is well taken: we surely have to wonder if Kwame Nkrumah's offspring now is more illiterate.
To the point, several errors have been noted:
...as Mr. Mahama have - should be has sought -
vacating as the "Head" of Political Science Dept. at KNUST for reasons unknown, that departments website remains... - missing apostrophe in department 's website.
As a result, Ghana losses, not only prestige... - should be Ghana loses
... to suppose that mant top echelon officials - should read many top echelon officials.
That brings to mind, George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language ", in which he intentionally employed some of the same types of errors he critiqued. I doubt if Prof. Lungu have the same intention that Orwell did when he wrote his article.
Granted, to err is human, and there are occasional typos, but we need to edit what we need to put out there in public.
And whatever the profession one needs to be a thinking being committed to constant updates in the field.
Which means Nkrumah's offspring must strive to be lifelong learners par excellence.

Until we treat our education ministry as we treat our foreign and defense ministries, our educational system would be subpar. Hannah Tetteh gets more resources and respect than Dr. Naana.

The ignorance of Prof. Kankan Lungu stems from the sordid fact that he believes a crab could beget a bird.
How can Nkrumah, an ignoramus, ever sire offspring that are any different from him?

Whew!! Nkrumah acquired two master's degrees from The University of Pennsylvania,an IVY LEAGUE school and home of the world famous WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS.
In addition, Osagyefo wrote over twenty books and papers. Folks, let this KURASENI tell us which schools he attended;books written and what he has done so far - for Ghana and Africa.
To conclude, this MF calls himself "Dokita",knowing full well that lawyers in America(Uncle Sam's country),do not use the abbreviation "Dr." in front of their names. Not even President Obama and the U.S Supreme Court Justices.

I was surprised at SAS calling Nkrumah ignorance. Nkrumah the man who even saw into the future and wrote about it??? If Nkrumah is ignorant, what then shall we term Busia who advised and presided over Ghana going into the doldrums educationally and industrially too with his claim that when pple went to school they didn't want to farm again, so by deduction, education is bad for agric!???
Btw, Nkrumah actually completed all his PhD course works and presented a dissertation but he was denied his defence of it 'cos of the early signs of McCarthyism in the US. That's why he left the US to start a fresh one in the UK. Check Marika Sherwood's book:

There is an exempt on the Internet where you can read about this bad treatment in the US.
